Cats/POR/MIN

Post#1 » by WetWildandWeird » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:03 pm

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7hon993

Cats:
IN: DWilliams, Wes, Beasley
OUT: BB, Augustine, Maggette

POR
IN: Darko, Augustine
OUT: Batum, Felton

MIN
IN: Batum, Maggette, Felton, BB
OUT: Beasley, Darko, Wes, DWilliams

POR: Felton won't cut it they get to shed his contract get a good young PG and a back up big focus on Wallace and making a run now

Cats: Get their chip in Williams a waiver on Beasley and Wes. Youth and light salaries, to add to Walker and their high lotto pick.

Wolves: Cause we get Mack, Batum and Maggette.

I feel this might be too far in our advantage, but thought id get your guys takes. We can obviously throw in our extra picks where they may be needed.

I think the three valuable pieces here are Biyombo, Williams and Batum and Portland doesn't get any of them. They decline.

I appreciate the sentiment and would love to get Batum on the Wolves, though.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but I really like augustine on that team and I couldnt get the salaries to work in any other way. I was trying to get them more value but it was damn hard. Personally I would like to see him somehow end up in POR all they really need is a PG.

I was trying to facilitate it and steal some pieces for us

I think there's something that could work with these three teams but this doesn't seem to be it. Looks kinda bad for all three, tbh.

I say no to my modified trade, but it's closer value wise.

HAHAHA yeah I honestly think we all have each others parts but I couldnt get anything else to work. That was honestly the only reason Beasley and Maggette were added.

Maggette is poo. Portland doesn't get anything worthwhile for Batum so its a no-go.

Something like this might work. We'd probably need to send a draft pick or another prospect to the bobcats to get this done.

Or we could take Maggette's salary instead of Diop if they prefer that.

Yeah I thought we would have to take Maggettes bad contract to get these players.

But do people really think Augustine is that bad? I really like him on POR and think he would do really well, a lot better than Ridnour at least IMO. I think he could round out that team pretty well. I personally believe that is all they are really lacking and some depth at the C. Not trying to justify the trade (i actually thought it was pretty crappy) just hoping you guys might be able to help tweek it

So in the trade in the OP, Minn doesn't send out Ridnour or Barea and they bring in another PG, making 4 PGs on roster?

Kahn, is that you? ;)

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6028672

MN out: Williams, Beasley, Ridnour, Webster, Milicic, Miller, Utah 1st, Memphis 1st
MN in: Batum, Henderson, Biyombo, Maggette, Felton

Rubio/Barea/Felton
Henderson/Ellington/Lee
Batum/Johnson
Love/Biyombo/Tolliver
Pekovic/Biyombo/Randolph

CHA out: Augustin, Biyombo, Henderson, Maggette
CHA in: Williams, Beasley, Webster, Miller, Memphis 1st

Walker/Higgins
Webster/Carroll
Beasley/Thomas
Williams/Diaw
Diop/Miller

POR out: Batum, Felton
POR in: Augstin, Ridnour, Milicic, Utah 1st

Augustin/Ridnour
Matthews/Crawford
Wallace/Babbitt
Aldridge/Thomas/Smith
Camby/Milicic/Oden

Does this work better?

RCG - Thats what I was originally going for in POR case but I felt the Cats gave up too much. I feel like the expirings would be good though for a rebuilder, or they could swap Web for Wes if they wanna take the waiver either way awesome.

You are much better at working that trade machine than I. Mine took me forever and wasnt what I wanted i was just happy one of the worked finally

Another idea: http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6028943

MN out: Williams, Beasley, Johnson, Ridnour, Milicic, Miller, Utah 1st, Memphis 1st
MN in: Batum, Matthews, Biyombo, Felton, Maggette

Wolves address their wing situation and get a defensive-minded big.

Rubio/Barea/Felton
Matthews/Ellington/Lee
Batum/Maggette
Love/Randolph/Tolliver
Pekovic/Biyombo

CHA out: Biyombo, Augustin, Henderson, Maggette
CHA in: Williams, Johnson, Ridnour, Miller, Utah 1st, Memphis 1st

Charlotte drafts Anthony Davis or Andre Drummond with their upcoming pick and uses the Utah/Memphis pick to address the SG position and move Johnson to SF. They also dump Maggette in the process.

Walker/Ridnour
Johnson/Ridnour/Carroll
Thomas/Johnson
Williams/Diaw
Diop/Diaw

POR out: Batum, Matthews, Felton
POR in: Augustin, Henderson, Beasley, Milicic

Portland addresses all of its weaknesses. Move from Matthews to Henderson is lateral. Wallace can teach Beasley how to play some D and they upgrade at PG and back-up C.

Augustin/
Henderson/Crawford
Wallace/Beasley
Aldridge/Beasley
Camby/Milicic/Oden

RCG - I think that last one might make the most sense for all teams. POR gets a step up at the 2 from Matthews to Hendo while still rounding out their roster.

I think they line up they could roll out would make a serious run at the finals.

DJ/Hendo/Wallace/LMA/Camby is a pretty good squad.

Bobcats get some solid youth to build around and 2 or 3 potentially 3 franchise pieces in Walker/Davis/Williams plus the draft picks will come in hand fleshing out their roster

Oh its nice to dream that we could end up with competence at all positions. However unlikely
