Playoff Caliber Wings

Post#1 » by [RCG] » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:08 am

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=74nzdde

Wolves out: Williams, Johnson, Ridnour, Webster, Milicic, Miller, Memphis 1st
Wolves in: Ellis, Wallace

Wolves trade in their depth for two quality starters who catapault the Wolves into the playoffs. Wolves can sign the recently waived Renaldo Balkman to the vet minimum as back-up C.

Rubio/Barea
Ellis/Ellington/Lee
Wallace/Beasley
Love/Beasley/Tolliver
Pekovic/Randolph

Warriors out: Ellis
Warriors in: Williams, Miller

Warriors choose the rebuild route after a poor start. They can look to trade Lee/Biedrins and focus on adding players around Curry/Thompson/Wright/Williams/Udoh.

Blazers out: Wallace
Blazers in: Ridnour, Johnson, Milicic, Memphis 1st

Blazers address some issue areas while resolving their SF situation by going young.

Ridnour/Felton
Matthews/Crawford
Batum/Johnson
LMA/
Camby/Milicic

Ellis would be a terrible fit. I really cant see him and Rubio playing well together. Wallace, eh.

Tayshaun Prince would be a nice fit here if his contract weren't so outrageous. He can flat out defend and knows his role, and can still get it done.

Wallace is defensive minded, can guard the Rudy Gay, Batum, Durant that we'd inevitably run up against.

If we are okay with Ridnour playing alongside we should definitely be fine with Ellis who is a super-rich man's version.

I think there are better options available but we don't give up Williams, Pekovic or the Utah 1st. Also we keep Beasley to be a 6th man. I think both Portland and Golden State would be open to this idea.

Based off that...

Wolves out: Williams, Ridnour, Milicic, Utah 1st, Memphis 1st
Wolves in: Batum, Lee, Felton

Rubio/Barea/Felton
Lee/Ellington/Lee
Batum/Johnson
Love/Beasley/Tolliver
Pekovic/Randolph/Miller

Rockets out: Martin, Scola, Lee
Rockets in: Williams, Matthews, Camby, Utah 1st, Memphis 1st

Matthews is a better two-way player than Martin and younger, fits nicely with Lowry. Williams is a major piece to build around with Lowry/Matthews/Williams. They also cut some $$$ and pick up a couple 1sts.

Lowry/Dragic
Matthews
Parsons/Budinger
Williams/Hill
Dalembert/Camby

Blazers out: Batum, Matthews, Camby, Felton
Blazers in: Martin, Scola, Milicic, Ridnour

Blazers add a potent wing-scorer, a defensive big alongside LMA and a PG upgrade from Felton and hometown kid.

Rindour
Martin/Crawford
Wallace/
LMA/Scola
Milicic/Scola

Lot of issues with this one, it's a nice trade for the rockets though.
The Blazers have no need for Scola. We shouldn't be tossing in two draft picks, Ridnour for Lee, and Williams for Batum is more then fair, Batum doesn't want to be there... Felton is a half-wit whose game deserted him, no way I want him near our guys. Not sure why we dump Darko when we have no backup center, you give away the picks to easily draft one, then give Camby to the Rockets...

Ellis would be a wealthy mans starting caliber Barea. Lot of buckets and undersized. I would take it though.

I would also throw a lot at Kmart, who seems a little unhappy in Houston.

Ellis is meh, though I like Wallace.

Now, Wallace and Martin, assuming they don't give up Pek, Love and Rubio, would create a hell of a starting lineup.

Ridnour for Lee? I think Rockets value him more than that. As you can see I like a little more complicated trades

What do wolves fan think of Rudy Fernandez ? i know hes not a elite wing but giving the chance and right system, i personally feel he can be a big piece for the future? im sure denver wont ask for much due to the fact of the wings they already have. what do you guys think?

I'd take Rudy, despite his flaws.
I think we need to get off our high horse in some respects. We aren't the prettiest girl at the dance.
