No love for Nikola.

2 Most improved articles on nba.com today, and not one mention of Pekovic. Is this because we are such a "small market" team or am I just blinded by homerism and he actually sucks?

But yeh heres the two articles:

The 2nd article mentions Pekovic (albeit only in one sentence).

oh my!... my apologies

although as you said its barely a sentence

Ersan Ilyasova has had commendable gains. Same with Ty Lawson, Jeff Teague, DeMarcus Cousins and Nikola Pekovic. There is no shortage of up-and-comers to consider.

It's probably due to his injury. For probably the first 1/3 of the season, he was on the bench before he broke out and was great for the middle 1/3 of the season, but the last 1/3 of the season was up-and-down due to injury. Personally, I think he's very deserving, but not sure if he'll get the attentional nationally because it wasn't over the full season and yes, because we're in a smaller market. Oh, and if Rubio doesn't go down and we remain in the playoff hunt, that would have helped too.

We're not a small market, we're the same size market as Phoenix and pretty much the definition of a "medium market".

Just in case anyone was curious....Pekovic was averaging 1.1 blocks per 36 pre-injury (he averaged 1.4 per 36 last year). That is, 20 blocks in 658 minutes over January/February. He's averaging about 0.6 blocks per 36 post-injury.

He's been far more hampered by injury than most people suspect. Here's hoping he's healthy next year.
