They are better than what we have, but still both are average or even below average. Johnson, Beasley and Webster were going to get further opportunity to prove themselves this season. I don't think it was ever realistic to expect that trade, and it's probably not worth regretting.

Why? I mean aside from the Wolves brass being obviously incompetent. At the time it looked like a great opportunity to me with Dallas openly saying that they would give them to anybody. I mean Rubio and Fernandez are friends and Corey has a history here. Seemed like a gift Wolves chose to pass up.

Because we already had guys we wanted to give those minutes to. I don't think it was clear at the time that Brewer and Fernandez would be better than Johnson, Beasley, and Webster.

It would've been a "depth" trade, not a "insert them into rotation right away" trade. Injuries happen, busts happen. There is a reason teams carry 15 players on a roster and not 8 or 9. Essentially they would be taking the place of Ellington and Haywood/Lee.

Corey Brewer also would have cut into our cap space this offseason. Maybe that matters, maybe it doesn't.

I understand moving Brewer b/c Wes wasn't supposed to be a mega bust and Randolph was intriguing and I understand starting the year as we did; the mistake was not getting anything done before the deadline and ruining all our momentum by returning to 2010/11 form

That and screwing up every other chance to improve the team.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.
