I'm not watching the game, but Hibbert fouled out putting up a donut (0 pts/5 reb) today in the Big East Tourney.

And yes, I know you can't judge a player off one game (especially one I'm not watching), but I just don't see him as athletic enough to be a difference maker in the NBA. By draft day I don't see him going anywhere in the lottery.

Gallinari at the 4 would be the same defensive problems we have right now with Gomes as a 4 and Al as the 5. I would hesistate just for that. Unless you assume Gallinari is athletic enough to play the 3 and we can draft/sign a 5.

There's not much to go off of except articles and youtube vids. But judging from those, Gallinari has stupid good handles for a 6'9" guy.

Going from that, I don't see how he couldn't play the 3 in the NBA. Seems like his natural position.

I agree. I think Gallinari's natural position is at small forward. No way he can guard 4's right now (at least not from my very uninformed opinion...but who knows, I've only read a handful of articles on him and seen him in highlights). Hard to judge a guy off that.

I've never heard anyone say Gallinari was a PF, I think it's pretty obvious he's a 3.

1- Beasley
2- Rose
3- Jordan
4- Mayo
5- Lopez
6- Thabeet
7- Bayless
8- Greene (2), Griffin (1), Gordon (5), Gallinari (5), Hibbert (5)

none of these guys sound enticing anymore.

I am not worried about his handles, rather his athletic ability for a 3.

15 points on 6-16 shooting in a losing effort isn't exactly anything to get excited over.

^

Yeah, not a great game for OJ.

Shipp, Westbrook and Collison are one of the best sets of guards in the country though and OJ also didn't get much help.

quit looking at boxscores..i watched the last 5 minutes and it was because of he that sc even had a chance to be in that game? You see teh spot up 3, the dribble drive-spin move with the lefty scoop?

I think box scores are exactly what should be looked at when making a case for Mayo (or just about anybody) over Jordan, you just picked the wrong one.

Deandre Jordan: 5 minutes, 0-0 from the floor, 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 blocks, 0 steals, 0 fouls, 1 assist, 1 tournover

How in the world can we justify using a top 3 pick on a guy that can't get more than 5 minutes of playing time in a game that matters?

Jordan has had a sever stomach virus the last couple of days. He only had 5 minutes of playing time, because he was severely dehydrated. The announcers for the A&M/Kansas game said earlier that he went through 3 IV's yesterday.

Thanks. I'm glad there was a legit reason for his lack of impact that particular game, now there's only 17 or so games where he his box score was pretty underwhelming left.
