This.

The only way KG would even consider it would be if Taylor was gone IMO.

I'm quite shocked, too.

I was starting to wonder if anyone else noticed, or maybe everyone who was around back then simply forgot about him.

Oh yeah, that's with baseball, football, hockey?

I think they only do it baseball, and I'm not sure the player gets to choose.

When Barkley was inducted into the HOF, his speech was pretty much about thanking the people who made it possible to bring him to Phoenix to give him the opportunity win, though they fell short. Pretty much with Barkley and the Sixers, it's about his former teammates (Dr. J, Moses Malone, Mo Cheeks, etc.) He did give the Sixers props for become the pro he became. I could just see KG talking about being a Celtic for his entire speech. It's whatever though.

Sounds like you've got a little bit of a Minnesota inferiority complex going here. I think there's no doubt KG would come back to get his jersey retired, he's always showed appreciation to the Minnesota fans. He just doesn't like the organization.

It's hard to pinpoint the exact emotions of what KG has for our organization. Maybe it's just a feud with Taylor? From throwing KG under the bus to reports about them offering Greg Buckner to wear number 21, hard to say honesty. Jersey ceremonies would mean having to deal with the organization, even if it's to honor himself and the fans.

I would think once Taylor steps down, he would "cool off". I know he has love for us fans and Minnesota still but I'm curious to see how far he would go with this organization with Taylor still in the office. I just get the vibe he wants nothing to do with us, at least for now. When the time comes when he steps away from the game, he'll be able to reflect and reminisce about his career and come around.

Why would KG want to got back to Minny? A better question is why would they want KG back? This is a team that is looking to the future and has its own new core of emerging leaders. You dont need to mix a guy like KG in with that dynamic unless he is willing to be a guy that takes a small bench role. No way KG runs back to an emerging team anyway. Hes at a win or go home age. If he isnt playing with a contender I highly doubt he plays again.

Why would he take a small bench role? Based on how he's played this year he'd still be the best guy on the team.
