You come out with two proven shooters, both in their prime, at your two positions of need, in exchange for two young players who have under performed thus far in their career and a mid round pick. This is the kind of trade you make if you want to compete now.

Derrick Williams was 20 years old trying to adjust to a new spot with no training camp. He still post a just under average PER while getting inconsistent minutes. I don't see why people think he was a massive disappointment. Wes Johnson sucks, yes.

Kevin Martin is slightly overpaid(yes he's expiring), and also plays no defense. Dudley is a good role-player, but we don't need to trade a huge upside player for 2 solid players.

Has it been so bleak for so long in the Twin Cities that you all have no more hope and are just naturally pessimistic? :lol:

How is that being pessimistic at all? If anything that's optimistic..

last year we noticed a huge jump in improvement until Rubio's injury. We were actually in the playoffs at the time. There's no reason for us to sell our prospects low now that they won't have as much pressure on them to develop. We can actually afford to let our young guys develop with our team now that we should be competing for the playoffs with a main core of Love/Rubio/Pekovic and Rick Adelman coaching.

you guys are over rating this guy though, acting like he is a star player.. he's not.

hes slightly above average! but a good 3 point shooter.

i would take him, but he's not worth throwing more than a back up or 2(Barea) for him..
i'd rather draft Terrence Ross with the 18th if he's available.

if theres more to the deal like ;
Minnesota Gets : Jared Dudley, Hakim Warrick
Phoenix Gets : JJ Barea, Wes Johnson & 18th pick

I'd take Ross, Rivers, Lamb, Leonard at #18 if they're available otherwise I'd do that trade for Dudley.

Sac got rid of him, Houston wants to get rid of him, but we're still willing to give assets to take him on for a year? That's messed up. You cannot improve a team with pathogens as this. If you "overpay" for someone or take on a bad contract, they must have the IQ and atleast two of three qualities: notable upside, unique offensive skillset, defensive capability. KM has 1 of 3 at best.

Sac got rid of him because they thought Evans would be better and Houston wants to move him because McHale doesn't know how to use him (or coach, but hey). I'm not saying we should overpay for the guy, but he's a significant improvement over what we have now.
