You come out with two proven shooters, both in their prime, at your two positions of need, in exchange for two young players who have under performed thus far in their career and a mid round pick. This is the kind of trade you make if you want to compete now.
Derrick Williams was 20 years old trying to adjust to a new spot with no training camp. He still post a just under average PER while getting inconsistent minutes. I don't see why people think he was a massive disappointment. Wes Johnson sucks, yes.
Kevin Martin is slightly overpaid(yes he's expiring), and also plays no defense. Dudley is a good role-player, but we don't need to trade a huge upside player for 2 solid players.
Has it been so bleak for so long in the Twin Cities that you all have no more hope and are just naturally pessimistic?
How is that being pessimistic at all? If anything that's optimistic..

last year we noticed a huge jump in improvement until Rubio's injury. We were actually in the playoffs at the time. There's no reason for us to sell our prospects low now that they won't have as much pressure on them to develop. We can actually afford to let our young guys develop with our team now that we should be competing for the playoffs with a main core of Love/Rubio/Pekovic and Rick Adelman coaching.
