There is one decent player and a couple okay role players on that list, the rest were pointless and didn't contribute to the Wolves. Hence my theory that second round picks are crappy. ;)

You left off Pekovic, but I still agree.

I left off Pek, because he's Pek, and was a no brainer at the time.
Everyone else is a wonder of scouting.

We didn't pick Bjelica, Prestes wasn't on my list, Hummel hasn't played yet, and the jury is out on Lee.

As we stated a few months ago, he has pretty much all but boarded the plane for Panathinaikos, as everything regarding his transfer there has already been agreed upon. Even though he would normally garner a considerable amount of interest in the first round with the incredible season he’s had, the inevitably of him staying in Europe for a considerable amount of time, along with the verbal discouragement he’s given teams from drafting him (saying that he just does not like the NBA) will almost certainly drop him to the 2nd round.

Yes we did. Trade was announced an hour before the Bjelica pick.

So we're basically trading Miller's remaining salary as he's already retired, right?

Yeah, it just kept him from being on our Cap. So we have about 13.877 million available, instead of $13.029 million. (13.877 without cap holds, because Roy,Shved,Steamer will just fill those spots...)

Pek was only a second rounder because of his buyout. agree he should be ommited from any list of 2nd rounders. and... yeah those a some crappy players. But who remembers the zest Trent Tucker always said the name "Aaaaaandre Patterson" with??

With all of those wonderful names on that list of 2nd round picks, imagine how worthless the draft was when it went 7 rounds.

That's like saying Blair was only a 2nd because of his knees, so he shouldn't be included. He was picked in the 2nd rounder, he should be included on a list of 2nd rounders

Apples and Oranges, Pek wasn't coming over right away, that's why he was a 2nd rounder. No other reason.

Though I am not arguing for him not being on the list since he was a 2nd rounder, it wasn't due to injury risk etc like many others have been. Pek would have been a first rounder if he had been available to come over right away, nothing would have changed whether or not Blair had knee cartilage.

For those curious how the hornets were able to do this and still match eric gordon, the hornets used a 5.4 MIL TPE generated by sending Jarret Jack to GS in the 3-way dorrel wright trade to absorb Miller and his 5.1 mil salary.

2 2nd rounders is a lot to pay for 848k of cap space. I'd like to think Glen would just allow Kahn to buy another if he needed to, sadly this is probably not the case.

It all depends on how Kahn uses the capspace. If we don't spend up to cap, this is an epic fail.
But I think he must have a good idea of how much money he needs for Lee/Stiemsma/Shved to spend 2 2nds on acquiring so little cap space. Maybe this means that once Portland matches Batum we will see a quick succession of signings.

$7M for Lee (a guess based on rumor)
$5M for Roy (based on rumor)
$2-3M for Shved (based on a Krawczynski tweet)
Steimsma for the Room MLE

Where are the Wolves at in cap room right now? About $14M if Batum is matched? Looks like they'd have have to clear $1M to get their Plan B and the guys they've been linked to. If Batum's not matched then around $4M would have to be cleared to follow through on Roy and Shved.

I'm hoping we don't sign one of Shved or Roy. Sign Courtney Lee then target a back-up big like Jordan Hill. If we move either Ridnour/Barea then I'm fine with Shved but that is a lot of guards and only a couple big men.

I'd rather trade Wayne for Dante Cunningham, he' s better than Hill..
And getting Shved makes sense if we move one of JJ or Luke.

Rubio/JJ/Shved/M.Lee
Roy/C.Lee/Shved/M.Lee
Williams/Budinger/Roy/Hummel
Love/Cunningham/Williams
Pek/Stiemsma/Love
