Wasting $21.7 million on Prince as he fades into oblivion is pretty damn nutty thinking.

If that is your opinion so be it. He still scored 12.7 points/game - his career average is 12.9. He shot better from 3 than he did the previous year and only slightly under his career average. All his other numbers were not drastically different than his career averages. Double what Wes Johnson does and you have Tayshaun Prince.

And its $21.7 mil or $30.4 mil on a third-string PG and Wes Johnson.

Slightly under his career average...at 32. But will he still be at his career average when he turns 35 during the final year of his deal? Will he be able to play enough defense at 35 to cover up for a likely declining offense?

Hey guys, Nets fan here.

Just thinking of some random stuff as I sit here late night browsing Real GM and thinking of this whole Dwight mess the Nets have been involved with. Then I started to think of who else might be "available" at some point during the season. Do you guys think the Minny front office would entertain offers for Love if he makes more comments about growing impatient?

I was thinking if the Nets could get a third team involved, for example the Bobcats, to take Humphries and give up a first round pick, how would this prospect sound?

Brook Lopez, MarShon Brooks, +3 first round picks from the Nets, + 1 first round pick from the Bobcats/whoever would take Hump for a pick.

Thoughts?

Nope not even close. Wolves won't trade Love, check back in two years.

I think we have as good of a shot at landing Dwight as we do trading Kevin.

Cut Nets out. MKG+Biyombo+Diop+DET 1st+POR 1st. I'd take that deal for K.Love. No to that offer though.

That Wolves trade that has been in the works for days and days -- shooting guard Wayne Ellington to Memphis for forward Dante Cunningham -- will finally be official later today.

The Wolves are dealing away a 2009 first-round draft pick (28th overall) who was only going to see playing time this season if there were many injuries and getting back a guy who plays both forward spots and is active on defense.

Both players make almost exactly the same salary -- a little more than $2 million a season -- but the deal gives the Grizzlies another shooter and gives the Wolves a needed forward for a team that has added guards Brandon Roy and Alexey Shved but lost Michael Beasley, Anthony Randolph and quite possibly Anthony Tolliver from the frontcourt.

Portland drafted Cunningham 33rd overall out of Villanova in 2009 -- third pick in the second round, five picks after the Wolves took Ellington -- and traded him to Charlotte in February 2011. He signed as a restricted free agent just before the start of last season.

The Wolves also could officially announce their first free-agent signing -- Shved's -- as soon as Wednesday.

The others, including Boston center Greg Stiemsma, might not come until the Wolves line up any other moves in case they want to fit one signing into an salary-cap exception slot.
