Blazers get their starting C next to LMA. They'll have Pek's rights and they've wanted a legit center. They also have a need for a back-up PG, sometimes 2, and get a really good one in Ridnour. There should also be some good SGs in free agency to target, much better than the C class.

Suns aren't winning now or soon. They get the SG they need, a replacement big and two 1sts. They can develop Marshall, Leonard, Morris to be the core in a couple years. Beasley, Lee are young enough to be a part of that as well. Not sure why they paid Beasley and some other spare parts instead of saving cap-space, tanking for a couple years but whats done is done.

Gortat and Pekovic may be similar in on-court value, but Gortat has a little more trade value simply because his contract provides one more year of $7.7 before his next contract. However, I think Pek can keep getting better, and Gortat has leveled out, so who knows?

I like the concept of the trade, though I think Courtney Lee has the most value if he ends up in MIN, playing with Adelman. Lee is starting to look like more of a risk to me now, not just because he's played poorly, but his deal is four years long. I would hope with Shved's trajectory, he could be our starter in a couple years.
