Who knows. it's an interesting question I suppose, but I think it was just a building of his sense of the pressure from each snowballing loss and blowout or blown leads. At some point he's going to feel like he's got to relieve the pressure before it lands in his lap.Rookie-Mistake wrote:Did he have info that Pierce was about to get the chop and jumped at Finch?

Re: Is it time yet? To move on from Rosas?
I guess the real question is how much of current situation is his fault. Obviously the Covid cancellation of the end of last season hurt. Our not being in the bubble combined with an almost complete roster makeover at the trade deadline hurt. We know that Ryan was Taylor’s boy and there is plenty of reason to suspect that Finch was Rosas pick but Taylor overruled him. Add to that KAT missing all but 1 or 2 games (I cannot remember the exact number) after the trade deadline last year and you have a recipe for growing pains. All of that was before KAT got hurt, Culver got hurt, Dlo got hurt, Beasley got suspended, and Juancho underwent a reverse metamorphosis after doing Adam Sandler movie. All of these things are out of Rosas control.
All of the above being true, let’s get real. Small ball is a joke. It has not and will not win a title anywhere. Even in the modern NBA where 3 point shooting and pace dominate, rebounding and defensive size matters. We have seen what happens when Naz gets out rebounded and they just get easy dunks or uncontested 3s after the first shot. Beyond that, while Rosas has an eye for late first round and second round talent, both his first round picks have been terrible. Culver was a massive mistake and worse he cost us Dario. The Suns thank us when they see our staff because we gave them a starter quality PF and a pick which turned into a good player and all they lost was Culver who they likely wouldn’t have drafted anyway. Ant was also a terrible choice when Wiseman was available. I know some of you like Ball, and I know why. But honestly that guy would leave for a big market ASAP. Meanwhile his father would be giving interviews undermining this team every day. The locker room would become toxic and we would either need to trade Ball away or suffer a total corruption of our young core. Wiseman and KAT playing together could have been huge, instead we are stuck with Wiggins Jr.
Looking at talent brought in but excluding Naz and JMAC who should count as draft talent as they were both undrafted free agents and not established players tells another damming story. Vando cannot catch a pass. KBD might not have been a steep price for an experiment like Vando, but the dude cannot shoot or catch a pass. Rubio has been a complete bust. Ed Davis isn’t playable. Juancho has regressed to the point where he is not playable and has not been rehabilitated. Dlo is seriously compromised at the moment and will take work to fix. In fact other than Beasley it is hard to point to a single roster improvement that Rosas made by trades or FA signings with the exception of Dlo. Dlo is such a mixed bag with the KAT of it all and the getting rid of Wiggins it kinda feels like a wash,
My answer to the thread question, if Rosas abandons small ball and makes proper trade deadline and offseason moves he can and should stay. If not, he will lead us off the cliff and the franchise will likely be moved to Seattle.

Look at the what happened with Lonzo. Also remember we are the worst team in the league. Even if Ball gets us 3 more wins we still are the bottom. You really think his father won’t be telling him to get to the big markets for the ad money and to pair with Lonzo. The father will also try and leverage his name to get money for himself just like with Lonzo. I am sorry, but the writing was on the wall for Ball. Charlotte will need to fight like hell to keep him and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up being traded to an LA or New York before his rookie deal is up.

What happend to Lonzo? And i like his game but he didn't translate so far on what he was projected to be. That's not the case for LaMelo.
LMelo would get us way more than 3 wins.
That's how good he has been. But that's not the point.
Is obvious that he distanced himself from his father and you can see exactly that.
As for the big markets talk if he keeps playing like this he's locked for the next 9 years in Charlotte.

First, playing in the east is easier than the west and Charlotte actually runs an offense. It is not a given that he would be playing as well here, and Edwards has contributed some in our losses. I honestly don’t think you can reasonably say that he is worth way more than 3 wins.
As for Lonzo, if you don’t think he was a major headache for LA’s coaching staff and lockeroom before the trade you were not paying attention. The trade and the distance from his father helped Lonzo, but it was a cautionary tale.
As for your other point about him being locked up for 9 years, only time will tell. I expect in 2 or 3 he will pull a KP and threaten to sign the qualifying offer if he is not traded. The trade sends his bird rights and he will get not only the max but big city ad income as well. Nothing about his upbringing or that family tells me that he will be loyal to a small market team.
I think we should end the conversation on this thought. You may be right that he stays with whatever team drafted him, but there are plenty of red flags to make people worry otherwise. If you cannot see those flags then I don’t know what else to say.

If you think Lonzo was a major headache in LA.
Imagine the headache that was Dlo with his behavior in LA for example.
Ok, lets end

Lol. I do think Ball’s dad was a headache for LA. Not nearly the headache that DLo’s behavior was. But both got traded because they weren’t very good those first couple of years.
Everyone learned from that experience though. You haven’t heard anything from Lavar (dad) about Lonzo or LaMelo this year. In fact, all reports from Australia were that LaMelo was a really good incredibly hard working kid and his dad wasn’t heard from.
If this were a factor for Rosas, he should be fired immediately. What Ball’s doing in Charlotte at age 19, playing the most difficult position to learn, is incredible. His style of play would have lifted the entire team.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
