Don't think it will ever be his game

RCov couldn't dribble either, so not the end of the world

Just need to be able to attack closeouts

I’m still hopeful he can tighten it up. I know it’s very unlikely, but he still has a Paul George type ceiling. Although, Covington is probably a more likely outcome.

I want him to get good at two things before he attempts to expand his game, at least in a NBA game

1) hitting open shots to the point that defenses stop sagging off him

2) hitting FTs so that he's not a late game liability, can be a reliable 4th quarter player game after game

then he'll be a legit player who can play in any rotation instead of a promising, low expectation late round pick that got a chance and made the most of it on a bad team

its summer league, so not going to read much into what he's trying to do or being asked to do in this level of competition

They definitely were all over Williams

Any tiny thing Williams did, good or not so good, they would still find a way to drool over him, whereas McDaniels has to work on this and this lol

Cole Anthony and F wagner suck. The Orlando gm is so bad. Suggs is nice but overrated.

I was kinda disappointed by this game. Knight was very average, Nowell was awful, Wright was decent, but his defense wasn’t as effective. MCD impressed at the beginning and end but was invisible in the middle. Hopefully we get a better effort tomorrow.

Better effort? They held the Bulls to 25% shooting.

Patrick Williams had 6 turnovers, minus 21 on +/- today, Jaden had 0 and was +16

Wouldn't know that listening to the commentary.

I know we love McDaniels and he was the best player out there, but I think it's clear, that his body type is limiting him. He has so many troubles getting to the rim and finishing he has to settle for much harder floaters/leaners/sidesteps etc to avoid contact.
On the perimeter he's looking way more comfortable and his shot is good but that's why I see him more in a 3&D role unless he can put on sigificantly more weight and muscle (which he's trying but has problems bulking up (body type)).

Other than him and Nowell who will either score 20 points on tough shots....or not. I didn't see anyone who we should give a roster spot. I didn't watch the first game but I'll make sure I watch the next ones.

You can see some flashes in summer league but its hard to judge real talent. I saw flashes from Lavine but didn't recall seeing a ton from Jmac or Naz and they had great rookie seasons compared to where they were picked up. I like what I have seen from Jaden and Knight. Nowell has been hot and cold but he has a ton of tools, he just needs to sharpen them.

McKinley hasn't impressed me so far but he has fight. I am enjoying the games but really wish Culver was out there, he badly needs the reps.

I remember Naz being the talk of the Wolves summer league team. I also remember liking JMac (not as much as Jedzz though), but I wasn't sure if he would get a legitimate shot. But he did.

I was a bit sleep deprived and fell asleep while watching the 3rd Qtr. We really shut them down. How much was it our defense being good vs their offense being bad?

Mostly them missing everything. Refs are really letting everyone play so a lot of drives end in body contact, hacks, or both for both teams.

I think it depends on what you're looking for. I definitely remember seeing a bunch from Naz.

I don't really look at production or stats. I look a lot more at how well they seem to play within the schemes. I could tell Naz was a good fit, doing a lot of the same things we ask of Towns on offense.

I wish I could watch more of the games to give a deeper dive this year.

Maybe I'm trippin on Naz. Point I was failing to make is, sometimes you see things in summer league, sometimes you don't. I do think you can take several things like very tangible skills, grit, attitude as likely indicators though. I clearly remember seeing a fire in Lavine right away that wasn't normal. I also thought NICKEIL ALEXANDER-WALKER was an absolute stud which hasn't panned out yet.
