I don't give a rat's ass about most commentators. What that means is in one ear and out the other. Jim Peterson I remember because we played against him and Kevin Harlan is actually good. I remember them. I also know Marney Gelner. That's it. How many broadcasters have we had in the history of the Wolves. Now if you bring up the names I would probably go Oh yeah I've heard of him/her or I think I may know him/her. If they're former NBA players I will remember the names, but probably not that they were commentators.

Now if you want to talk about RealGM commentator's I give more than a rat's ass about them. I could maybe name you a hundred.

You MUST be trolling At this point Jim Pete and Dave Benz are basically part family I watch every single game (except national games/rare games that doesnt allow away support commentators) with them commentating the Wolves for god knows how many years now. And they do it in a very personable and charming fashion. Like you CANT watch wolves games and escape getting familiar and accostumed to them. They just sit there shooting the breeze nonstop lol. If ever run into them in any capacity (unlikely since I'm in Sweden). I will 100% buy them some brewskis

Nope until Benz was mentioned by somebody I couldn't have named him. He's that easy to forget. Doesn't stand out in any way. Now I will remember him forever, because of everybody talking about him and I have associated him with Julie Benz.

What? Literally, the guy says stupid stuff all the time, they are called Benzisms, he stands out because of this, you should know who he is, if you want to call yourself a fan... anyways. It is very odd to be a wolves fan and not know him.

When it comes to being ignorant about our broadcasters I'm guilty as charged and proud to be so. Nobody has challenged me about my declaration of not being ignorant about RealGM posters.
This is kind of like those IQ tests where they asked white country people about things commonly known in the inner city and they failed miserably.

Now we have access to a steady cadence of podcasts and blogs (not to mention this forum) to get Wolves commentary--we don't need to rely on the local play-by-play guy to keep us up to date.

Over the past decade I've only live in Minnesota for 2 or so years, so I mostly watched games online and it was usually the other team's broadcast. Not everyone who posts in here is from Minneapolis and watches FoxSports North every night.

I also know who he is. He's the sidekick to Jim Peterson or vice-versa. I knew there was a guy, but he didn't make enough of an impression for me to remember his name or what he looks like.

I know who he is. He's a basketball broadcaster who covers wolves games with Jim Peterson. Do I care? No. Would I remember his name if it weren't for all this hubbub about it here? No.
