I wont say he's amazing but I think he will have a really good season and I think he is a more valuable max guy than Wiggins when playing a top 3 player role. He's been horrible these last two games but I have faith he will be good for us this season. He certainly isn't as terrible as he has been. A bad stretch or two wont change my mind on that. Now if he is horrible all season, I will say I was very wrong.

How do we get Mobley?

Are you assuming with Ant and Ball we would've been bad enough (and lucky enough to move up) to draft 3rd this year?

And no way Wolves trade Towns for #2 and not draft Wiseman to be his backfill.

Which also means taking Wiggins back from Warriors as salary filler. Not sure this is exciting:

KAT is playing well. He did the work this offseason to get into better shape. But I am not sure he will ever overcome the mental element. (And this has nothing to do with his off court problems, which are truly tough -- I have never lost a parent so can't imagine what he's been through.) He's been this way since his Sophomore season and nothing has changed. He lets players and refs get into his head. He fights his own teammates for rebounds. He is trapped in his own head and he can't get out.

I don't care that Towns complains about bad foul calls. All NBA players do it.

Where I begin to take issue is when it consumes him. I think it was on Mackey and Judd today, they were talking about this. Elite players have a next play mentality. It's not just about talking to the refs. It affects his in-game decision-making. Passes are affected, shots are affected, everything. That's why it's a problem.

Yeah, I'd agree with this...it's the getting consumed & not able to move on that's the issue. This has lead me to now consider KAT today's new version of Rasheed Wallace back in the day....extremely talented big that didn't really start to see that really start to maximize until he got to that bare minimum maturity level & the right kind of players around him that held him accountable & check. I hope that Ant is a player that can eventually provide that...& most likely it will take vets like Bev & Taureen to help that transition. If that can happen, there's still a path that you can win with a guy like KAT in that star core. The guy that really is the issue is Dlo like many have mentioned....it's just too selfish &/or hero ball like...even when he's trying to pass it...he's trying to chase the highlight play too much right now & not just settling for the simple play. Is part of DLo's struggles partly due to the pace of play (that he's really trying to comply with) combined with now just the normal NBA schedule....is he the body type &/or mindset that can just play that fast consistently over a nba schedule?

I think there are valid points about Towns' mental makeup. He does need to harness his emotions. I'm all for him defending himself when it comes to fouls because he does get mugged a lot without getting the foul calls from the refs. Finch made an interesting point about the amount of offensive fouls calls made against Towns compared to other stars in the league. I think Towns has to reserve that emotion until late in the game, when those calls really start to matter. I would like to see him become more strategic when complaining to the refs, because those early complaints take him out of the game.

However, this thread is about Ant's comments. I only saw one issue with his comments....Towns had 7 assists. I was a bit bothered by Town's holding the ball in the post and not passing. But then I began to notice that the other players have a tendency to stand in one spot once he has the ball, versus creating a passing lane by picking and cutting. Just like Towns, I think Ant should have been a bit more strategic with this comment and saved it for later. You can't have 3 assist to Town's 7 assist and make an issue of someone passing the ball, especially when you took just as many shots as he did. I don't have an issue with the comment because I think moving the ball is important, but I would not have called my teammates out like he did. You can call attention to the issue without tossing your teammates under the bus. However the light will shine brighter on him, more so than on Russell and Towns, so I hope the young Thundercat can handle that spotlight.

Buckle up Timberwolves fans, if we aren't in the playoff conversation come trade deadline, we may be in the last days of the Towns and Russell experiment.

I don't normally pray for travail things like sports, but I really wanted Mobley on this team and I was praying we got a top 3 pick. Please don't temp me, because I would trade Towns in a NY minute if I thought we could somehow land Mobley.
