I don’t see a lot of synergy on offense. Especially between KAT and Ant. They each seem to play better with other players. Neither is getting the other easy shots.

No one overall is really creating for others with kick outs and just good ball movement.

That's right jpatrick. I love Finch but that's on him. I thought McD would make a big jump offensively this year and I'm just wrong so far on that. Very disappointing.

Prince is a disaster. J Mac, Okogie, really bad too. Just not enough help for Kat and Ant. Maybe Beasley is starting to come on? We desperately need the "good" Dlo.

I'd like to see more Nowell and Bolmaro. I'd even try Layman over Prince! Did I really say that? :)

Wow. 60% shooting from the clips. That's embarrassing.

Trade everyone but Ant*

So I was late to this game and watched 3 quarters before seeing enough. During the 3rd the song “Days Like This” popped into my head. This wasn’t so much a Wolves loss as a Clippers win. Anytime a team hits 21 of 36 from 3 for 58.3 percent your pretty well doomed. I saw plenty of mistakes by the wolves on both sides of the ball, but at the same time Clippers hit a ton of tough shots. I stand by my earlier call for the removal of JMAC and Prince from the rotation. Let Nowell and Bolmaro carry the load. I was also proven right when I said Ant should spend some time with the second unit. It paid off in the 2nd quarter before they all drank red bull and grew wings. I could call out individual players for making bad shots or taking too many 3s or not taking enough shots, or not spacing better, or any one of a dozen other things, but I come back to 21 of 36 from 3 and 58.3%. Hitting 7 more 3s when you take 4 less than your opponent is pretty much game over.

How does every wolves season go the same? Start out 3-1 and then immediately lose 5-10 in a row?

This was a DREAM schedule to start a season. 7 of 8 at home and beat Milwaukee??? Vs a bunch of beatable teams.

This team needs to punch LA in the mouth next game and get on the road for some cohesiveness time. I’m with the guy above the next game is a must win. Get this stupid monkey off our back and get on the road.

Ant. Stop shooting 3s

Period.

Correct. Very disappointed in our offense so far.

Gotta through a flag on both posts and penalize you at least 5 yards. The Houston game they weren’t close to 100 before we pulled our starters. In the next 4 we held 3 of 4 to under 100 points. In the magic game before the 4th their shooting was not much better than ours. They caught fire and deflated us and tonight PG hit some insane shots. Also mismatches caused switches which opened things up for Jackson and a few other shooters. To say that everyone shoots well against us is inconsistent with reality. 5 bad quarts (really 4 as we weren’t lit up that badly in the first,) does not an everyone make.

Edit to add: against Orlando they went 2-11 from 3 in the first, 5-10 in the 2nd, 2-10 in the 3rd for a total of 9-31 = 29%. In the fourth they went 8-12 from 3 for 66%. Tell me that is them hitting everything against us all game. Before that Jim Pete said we were forcing some of the lowest opponent shooting in the league (some of it was quality of competition, but some of it was defense.)

Over the past 4 games... Towns has these combined 4th quarter stats:

7 pts
8 reb
1 ast

1 - 10 fg
4 - 6 ft

Wolves have been outscored by 36 points.

Good find, I wonder if this suggests he is playing too many minutes, or if other teams defenses are adjusting better and shutting him down. Or could be something not on my list.

Kennard is also a bitch.

Meh. I think most people would see it entirely differently, especially Clippers fans.

Beverley tried to punk Kennard with gimmick, sophomoric antics... and Kennard schooled him. An embarrassing finish to the game by Beverley last night.

Might also speak to how much more challenging it is for bigs to consistently take over games. With the Wolves struggling to shoot and with only a few actual offensive threats on the court, the Clippers put Zubac behind Towns and had Batum draped (literally) on Towns front.

I don't know what the excuse was against Milwaukee... or Denver... or Orlando.

Given where we are in the season and given KAT’s minutes my guess is fatigue. Again not an excuse, just seeking to understand a truly interesting pattern. I meant it when I said it was a good catch.

Anyone that watched even a second of the game after that 3rd Quarter deserves a "Dedicated Fan" award...or a trip to the mental ward for evaluation. I don't have the answers but this current roster won't even sniff 35 wins this season. I'm not being overly negative...we are who we are.

There's no good DLo. He is what he is. He was not a real allstar quality player in Brooklyn either. We need a mediocre PG who can simply run pick n roll, attack the rim consistently, drive and kick. If we had 2 Beverley's, we'd be better off than with Beverley + DLo, not because Beverley is amazing, but because he has a skillset that works better on any lineup.

DLo is a 6th man type in a league that is moving away from the 6th man types because bench units as a whole on average are more talented than before. How many teams have a 6th man that is a microwave scorer taking 15+ shots with the bench unit? Only Clarkson and Herro come to mind. But if DLo is gonna work for us, he's gonna work for us in that role.
