Let me know if it's just me, but I would NOT trade Vando for Collins if the option was on the table

Now that is a great question. Vando for Collins?

I loved Collins in the draft and we had him for the taking but they took the Center that never played a game with us and was injured then traded.

Super tough call for me with Collins vs Vando. I like Collins better right now.... Vando can be a Rodman monster with potentially a better offensive game.

I have no idea who I'll take. I'll think about it. :)

That was a great question!

Collins played well in the playoffs

Vando is a Try Hard that is effective because of his energy level relative to everyone else (credit to him!), but in a playoff situation everyone's intensity is pretty equal, and so players like Vando that lack ball skills tend to get played off the court

having said that, Collins doesn't make a ton of sense giving how ball dominant ANT/KAT/Russell are, chemistry and players accepting roles is hugely important

There is a difference between simply hustling, and having good rebounding technique. V8 is consistent enough that you have to assume he could rebound high level in the playoffs. His free throw shooting and and shot percentage at the rim also support his viability in the playoffs. We both know his defense is more than adequate. The only real question is whether V8’s lack of mid range and deep shot is more of a liability than his other various contributions? I struggle to find a way to get to yes on that question. V8 is a guy who generates more points off rebounds and forcing turnovers than most 5th scoring option role players generate in points. Moreover, as he finds new ways to improve his cutting and rolling V8’s value is increasing, not decreasing. For the money V8 is a huge value, maybe even one of the most valuable contracts in the league. To replace all the rebounding, defense, extra possessions, and added pace that V8 brings is no easy task, and frankly Gupta would be smart not to try.

Really good stuff!

I can't argue with you. Vando is a prize. We should treat him as such.

100%

just pointing out that there are "82-game players, then there are 16-game players" as Draymond Green says

again, not really a fan of Collins
would likely be significant diminishing returns adding another expensive offensive player, he'd be getting fewer shots than at ATL and isn't the type to do the screening, floor running, defensive effort, boxing out

I've said all season I think Wolves would be more impacted going after another guard/wing who could create, I'd be more interested in Bogdan than Collins if Wolves were dealing with the Hawks

but then my guy Nowell is finally getting consistent minutes, so it becomes the same argument
why pay Bogdan 10x as much as Nowell

Trading Vando seems like a huge mistake to me for the type of player Collins is.

Problem with All Stars are they are fan voted and that is often heavily influenced by market size and national attention (the kind you get when a lot of your games are nationally televised.)

You are welcome! IMO GSW with healthy Klay have the best roster in NBA, owners with deepest pockets and the most arrogant fanbase in NBA. Wish your team good luck and another tittle run without injuries.

Your teams payroll is $178,980,766. Our teams payroll is $137,037,598. Gee I wonder what a team could do with 41,943,168. That’s before we get into the tax, and correct me if I am wrong but you guys are repeat payers, aren’t you? So in reality your really over 300,000,000 million relative to our 137,037,598. You have balls to come to another teams board and mock them when you leave team basically broke the league. Putting aside the KD nonsense which broke the league before that, you guys have destroyed the game. I only wish all your players would tear their ACL’s. You only had Dlo because you did a sign and trade so you didn’t lose KD for nothing. A move by the way which gave you 3 max players a huge contract for Green and allowed you to keep most of your championship roster. You guys are like the Yankees, you buy your wins and your legacy is basically that of cheaters and frauds.

I mean, the owner pays for it, as fans you couldnt be happier. However, to wish any human beings injuries, thats a bit low. Its just a game man, never wish injuries on anyone in real life. But again, thanks for the awesome trade, its looking better and better! Did you see Kuminga yesterday? :o :D

So in other words, who cares if the game has integrity so long as it’s rigged in your favor. Big market spends crazy money, gets national attention, makes back the money, and then continues to outspend the smaller markets that cannot compete. You clearly have no love or respect for the game.

No, in other words if the Wolves ownership spent more and hired well, you wouldnt be complaining too. Trust me, we know what crappy and owners who dont care for the game are. We had Cohan before, who was arguably one of the worst.
