Vando’s emergence has really helped DLo. Been saying we need a player who can roll and be a lob threat all season. He has really stepped up in that regard and DLo has been finding him regularly.

Couldn’t it be looked at the other way around? Dlo’s emergence as a PNR PG has helped V8 to realize his potential.

I don’t think so, Vando never was this much of a rolling threat. Even at the beginning of the season he was still struggling catching passes. Now he looks like a different player.

I agree he struggled to catch some of the passes, but I also think the passes weren’t as clean as Dlo as making them now. I think that V8 was always a cutting threat but played much less pick and role. Opponents were leaving V8 to double KAT or guard the paint and that’s were you saw V8 go to the basket.

DLo has alway been great finding rolling lob threats. If any of DLo’s passes were off to roll men it’s probably a function of having not many cutters or roll men. I wouldn’t have used Vando in pick and roll either when he wasn’t catching passes. Thankfully he worked on it and it’s paying off for him and the team. They make each other better, but I don’t think any of this happens without Vando’s improved hands.

There are players who never realize their potential until they play alongside a certain style of player. Russell might be that. Vanderbilt might be that.

Just need a bromance comedy with the two guys having a “you complete me moment,” and KAT standing off looking jealous because Dlo is his best friend and PNR partner ;)
