I always say a win is a win, but this game came as close to a win being a loss as it gets. We got to get it together.

Get these last 2 at home and go into the ASB on a nice little win streak.

I think Finch is going to be forced to play Knight since there are just no other options for guys who can rebound.

What's the deal with Vando's health? I heard Dave Benz mention it on the broadcast but I didn't quite catch it because I was having late dinner.

I think he's had a hip issue for a while that probably gets aggravated every time he ends up on the ground (which seems to happen fairly often). I also suspect he takes more of a beating than most guys due to his high effort play and slight frame. I'm guessing nobody on the team needs a week off more than Vando.

Couple weeks back he was listed on the injury report with a mid foot sprain. I think he got it in the GSW game when Dlo got the shin contusion.

Edit: confirmed with link.

WTH is wrong with this team? D is atrocious the past 10 games and we just about lost to a G league team. If CD doesn’t go down we lose today. If we get the wrong match up in the play in we are done. Kat is still lost after all these years.

Solid W. Every one we can get is important. Previous Wolves teams would have folded midway through the fourth but these guys made shots and found a way to win. Not the best game they’ve played or anything but they played well-enough.

We are using a similar scheme on defense as Denver used. At the start of the season, a guy who covers the Nuggets said there is an issue with this kind of defense, it's incredibly hard to maintain all season. He said basically what happens in Denver is they start out really hot with the D in the first 20 or so games, then mid-season they slump as they get fatigued, then in like the last 25 games they pick it back up after the all-star break.

Let's hope most of these issues is just fatigue and our guys pick it up soon after the all-star game.

From early in the season I wondered if the Wolves defense was sustainable since it required a high amount of energy to be successful. At this point, the answer is that it is not sustainable. The other unfortunate fact with the defense seems to be that the line between being pretty good and completely terrible is very thin, when the defensive effort isn't there it completely collapses (there is no gradual degradation of the defense, it just falls off a cliff). The hope is that a break followed by a playoff push can get the energy and effort levels back to where they need to be.

It’s not just the effort, it is the routine that is the problem. Most teams throw a variety of looks at opponents depending on the situation. You have seen what a zone can do to our offense. We don’t mix up our looks. The new wrinkles will help. Also we lack the big presence in the middle to protect the paint when KAT or Naz are trapping out on the perimeter. The big man rolling collapses our defense every time. We need a better way of dealing with this or we will continue to give up open corner 3s every time. It is no coincidence that we win when our opponents struggle to make their 3s and when we lose they shoot well. Combine that with the rebounding and you get opponents scoring 120 plus every game.

This defense is know to wax and wane, I wouldn't rule it out yet, it can improve again as the guys get some rest and build more resolve. Let's see were it is in a month. It may not be top ten but if it's in the 12 range its good.

Ant put the team on his back and refused to let this team lose. Every run they made, he had an answer that deflated them.. So much respect for this kid

That’s what winning teams do. Their best players rise up and smack down the other team when they make their runs.

Aiyä! from new branded Indiana.

Yep, I'm around there, now... Nomadism has its rules. They bought RRubio contract, so they bought us into the pack.
Band wagoning CLECaus and Indianos same season it's being a whole of an experience I swear.

About TimberTrolls defense looking not so lit as before... I merely point out these are same guys who launched MIN to some 1st defensive rankings inside and outside the paint during a looooong streak of Late Pre Season and even true RS games.

No reason they can't do it again.

I don't think they have being now better scouted by opponents... I just think that aggressive and relentless half court defense (at times even full court) Fincho has implemented with the addition of a couple of different set zones, requieres a hell of emotional intensity, physical effort and mental awareness 48 minutes per game.

No human roster can sustain that 70 games a season... no matter what guys you trade in or out, will be the same: it's not a matter of talent but of toughness.

Not only physical but (way more important) mental and emotional.

It's just exhausting, guys.

Even Jarrett Vandarra looks overwhelmed at times... there's only one Motivao Beverly and will always be only one Motivao Beverly (this guy flourish into this kind of stuff).

They all just need a break: All Star will make up for that.
