You mean the hunting 60? I mean the game was still winnable for the Spurs when KAT came back. Also, the morale of the team has to matter to Finch. Young, hungry wolves love records. KAT dropping 60 inspires and energizes them, and it didn’t exactly require a ton of extra effort.

The game was close because of the hunting. I've noticed that the players have been pushing Finch to do things he shouldn't be doing during games and players openly showing insubordination. If a player knows damn well he felt his hand slap another player don't act like it never happened and then throw fit if Finch doesn't want to use his review on the obvious.

If finch cared less about how the players felt, he wouldn't risk a win for a single players record to be broken by feeding him the ball. By doing so you've risked of loosing the game and then because of it causing an injury to another (Mcdaniels) player lol and in front of pop too. it was sad to see. Remember that t dub Towns tried so hard to get against a bad team too? did the Joker or Joel have his team try to feed them thier numbers? Towns is talented but this is a new low.

Why is everyone so happy about this spoon fed "accomplishments"?

One of the greatest performances in Timberwolves history and this is your take? And Finch is to blame for the McDaniels injury? You really need to go outside...there are kids on your lawn and clouds in the sky that you need to address. Sheesh. :banghead:

We really have some awful fans. KAT played 2 minutes and scored 4 points in the 4th for the NBA season high as of now.

I’ve become more of a lurker the past couple seasons but this is one of the worst takes I’ve ever seen on this board. Hopefully it’s a troll because no fan of this team should feel that way after that game. You say that Embiid never gets spoon fed but fail to mention he has the highest usage rate in the league. The team was clearly happy for KAT so let him have his night in a long 82 game season

Unless you've sat through the Mark Blount years and only looked forward to a season in hopes of seeing Marko Jaric's girlfriend in the stands don't talk to me about being a fan. For me it's only logical. It should have been a blowout. Why wasn't it? Because towns was going for his in the 4th unnaturally. if we were ahead we wouldn't have needed the starters on the floor.

Did Pop not send his bench out?? And enough of the troll talk just because people have different takes.

Since the issue is localized to the fourth, I want to point a few things out. 1. They scored 139 points because our defense couldn’t contain them. Their shooting percentages were unreal, and if you think a 12-15 point lead was safe in the fourth, you need to consider that Beasley didn’t score, Ant had 5 points, and outside of Nowell no one was especially hot. Also KAT was always part of the 4th quarter game plan but got 2 quick fouls and had to sit. The game was not in hand, it was still in controversy. Also as was stated above taking 2 3s and a put back layup isn’t so bad for a 40%+ 3 point shooter.

Minnesota started the quarter up fifteen.

Towns came in at the 8:29 mark (up fourteen) and secures a rebound. Following this…

Nowell gets fouled and shoots two free throws

Nowell turns the ball over

Karl-Anthony Towns gets an offensive foul.

He then fouls on the next defensive possession.

Subs out at 6:34 (up 14, 12 counting free throws)

In those (less than) two minutes, Towns had one offensive possession where he tried to score (offensive foul).

Towns subs in at 3:03 with Minnesota up thirteen.

Towns misses a floater.

Prince misses an open three-pointer.

Towns is fouled and makes one free-throw.

Towns misses a three-point shot.

Towns makes a three-point shot (60 points)

Towns finishes with a rebound and timeout at 1:10 left (up twelve).

Frankly, I am baffled at the suggestion that Minnesota couldn’t pull away because of Towns. The reason they weren’t pulling away was because he was on the bench for almost the entire quarter.

This **** was so amazing I rewatched that 3rd quarter twice..**** nuts (to score this much with not many 3 pointers taken), what an unreal performance. A night and performance I will remember for a long time.

Hmmm Irving playing in the 4th quarter up almost 30 points, I could have sworn somebody was just saying other players and teams don’t do that type of thing.

LMAO of course someone steals KAT's thunder the next damn day. Better not see all of sportscenter and NBA coverage go nuts over Kyrie all week and forget about KAT

I think KAT has got a decent amount of coverage. The narrative seems to be shifting in him with that game being an exclamation point on the team’s season. I think it is awesome we got back to back 60+ point games. I just love the double standard even our own fans have against our team. Other teams don’t put out their stars to reach records in blowouts wins they say…
