Great teams take to a whole other level and we haven't found that gear. Same reason why I have been thinking we can't win a playoff series. It doesn't mean doom and gloom if we get worked, it just means we got a ways to go still.

If we are really honest with ourselves, Ant hasn’t been Ant since early February. He is a shell of himself who occasionally gets hot from 3 or puts things into high gear for one quarter before disappearing again. Dlo since around March 1 has regressed to beginning of the year Dlo. That Dlo played a big role in starting 4-9 and is a big part of our going 1-3 last week. Our big 3 isn’t so big anymore and everyone knows it. Dallas beat us by making us put the ball in the hands of Dlo and Prince instead of KAT and Beasley, and Boston beat us by making the shots our defense is designed to give them. This is a growth year, but it is disappointing to watch so much fall apart right at the end.

We went through this phase with KG back in the day then finally got the Alien and Spreewell… made a run … then Spree couldn’t feed the family anymore.
I hope we respond a few years quicker this time around and give ourselves a bigger window to play in

KG didn't have an Anthony Edwards. His was Marbury but Marbury jumped shipped immediately. He stuck around I think the wolves would have had a very different history.

I was pretty young during the KG, Starbury, Gugliotta trio, but I remember my brother thinking it was going to be something special (he is 6.5 years older than me.) If only it had worked out.

And the funny/sad thing is Googs left MN because he hated playing with Marbury. He demanded a trade not knowing Marbury was going to leave. Then Marbury leaves because he couldn't be #1 here and we lose BOTH players. Was McHale paying any attention? We did get Terrell Brandon but not much else.

I loved Googs but he got hurt shortly after he got to PHX and was never the same.

Oh what could have been.....

I was so young I don’t remember much, but I do remember Kevin Harlan saying “ GOOGLY-OOGLY-OOGLY BABY.” Not that I don’t appreciate Tom Hanneman or Dave and Jim, but I miss Harlan calling Wolves games night in and night out.

I was a kid too and didn't care about basketball. I remember being at my friend's house and his older brother told me there was a player named Gugliotta. And I was like "You are lying." He said he was serious, I said no way. I think he got a magazine or maybe busted out a game (no one I knew had the internet then) and he showed me. I was shocked.

So I believe in the multiverse theory. This theory postulates that literally anything that can happen will happen in at least one parallel reality. What is really interesting about this theory is that there is a world (let’s call it Basketball Heaven,) where the Wolves had the best talent scouts and FO in the league and every year they drafted the best available player. Obviously there would be fewer lottery picks and more relevance, but it is so fun to think about compared to the mess that actually happened. Just today I caught myself thinking about a world where drafted Desmond Bane instead of Lea and traded Beasley for a PF. Oh well, at least we got Bev for Culver and Juancho.
