I also still like Barnes. He definitely has to be in a deal with GSW.
I think it would have to at least be Lee, Klay, Barnes and then one of GSW 2015 1st or Draymond Green for us to take the deal. I really don't want Lee on this team so we can have a horrible defending front court again. Would there be any potential suitors for him?
Washington if they lost Gortat? Slide Nene to the 5.
Lakers strike out and get desperate?
Brooklyn loves spending money.

While I think that's undeniable, on the bright side we would be much better defending on the wings and stopping dribble penetration.

Seems like GSW played this smartly. They started with 'can't put Klay in the deal' so that when they agreed to put him in they could then take out Barnes.

Their FO is one of the tops in the league, hope Flip doesnt get owned and we lose out on assets that can put in the trade

I suppose that swapping Martin for Thompson would help out on the wings. I'd just like a shot blocker at the bigs to build our team around. If we could move Pek or Lee for one(letting Dieng start) then I'd be happy.

Looks like GSW is going to do this. I hope this gets done prior to draft day - the wait is going to kill me.

On the Celtics board mostly think that is a bad deal for Minnesota.
On Chicago board mostly think is a bad deal for the Warriors.

Now that i think about it, id want Barnes in the deal. We dont have a clear cut SF, might as well let them all duke it out.

Re: Kevin Love Trade thread pt. III
Dubs fan here.
I know how I, personally, feel about this trade, which is: PLEASE GET IT DONE!
How do you guys feel?
Objectively speaking:
1) David Lee = he's not prime Duncan on D, but you're getting an excellent offensive PF, double double machine. He is a great finisher with either hand, and has a J out to 18 feet or so (although it regressed a bit last year). Great passer for a big man, too. I'm a fan of his, unlike people on our board.
2) Klay Thompson = this guy would be the real coup for you guys. Young 6'7 SG who is a top-5 three-point shooter in the league, a very good defender (legit two-way player), and has shocked us fans with how quickly he's expanded his game. He's added the ability to drive in the last year, which Dubs fans thought he'd never do. This dude is good. He is not just a spot up shooter.
3) Harrison Barnes = honestly...we're not that impressed with him, yet. Doesn't seem he has the killer instinct, mentality, whatever you want to call it, to be a great player. But his physical tools, all around game, and ability to play 3 or stretch 4 are valuable. Plus, if he puts it together, we're looking at a Deng or Deng-lite type of guy. Maybe being able to compete for a starting spot on your guys team will push him a bit, with us, he's firmly stuck behind Iggy and (now) Draymond.
^ That's as honest a breakdown as I can give on these guys. What do yall think?

LOL
Look ...for a trade involving a star player that wants out...I can't recall better return value. Lee was AN ALL STAR LAST YEAR people
So Last years All Star PF and a top 5 two way 6'7" shooting guard for an All Star PF and salary saving in trading away Kevin Martin.....
That is as fair as you'll ever get.

He's not a great fit with our other players, though.
If he's not a great roster fit and we can't trade him because we won't get anything good in return, I fail to see how he's ever neutral trade filler.
I'm not completely opposed to the deal simply because of Thompson, but I'm not too fond of acquiring Lee.
Let's put it this way: I'd rather have David Lee as our starting PF than Dante Cunningham. If we're going to trade with Golden State, I'd rather have Lee than not have him.

And go with Dieng (Defense) and D.Lee (offense).
That is a balance front court right ?
That oversimplifies things, there are plenty of advanced stats that say Pek is a better defender than Dieng at this point.
I would disagree and agree with that at the same time. I watched almost every TWolves game that was on TV last year and Dieng is a great help defender while Pek (and KLove) are horrible help defenders. Where Dieng lacks is with man-to-man defense (which is what Pek is good at). Dieng got abused by Cousins and other big centers where Pek actually owned Cousins most of the time. If Dieng can add strength and improve his man-to-man defense, we would be in great shape.

I know I am for you guys.
Just forget I'm a Boston fan for a second. I'd be so pissed if that was what we got for Rondo, and his value is much lower than Love's. I just can't.

I also think Pek is a smarter defender at this point of his career than Gorgui. Gorgui can be a little over anxious. But that's why I'd like to keep both, it's possible that Gorgui is our center of the future but I don't trust him enough yet to dump Pek.

I'd rather be the 10th seed than 11th seed.
