Ricky's not looking great at all. He's actually playing pretty **** like he does at the start of every season for whatever reason. But he's playing with tons of heart and grit and panache. Utah's fans have already embraced him so that's good.

He's shooting more than he would normally though. 11 FGA a game so far, which is very high compared to his time here. Don't know if it's a team thing or he's trying to continue his end of season stretch from last year but either way it's not working.

I think Ricky will always be that way. A bad shooter and finished around the rim who makes up for it in other areas.

Anthony Bennett.

This explains alot.

The issue with Anthony was, and we had no way of knowing it at the time, the kid had no desire to overcome adversity whatsoever. As soon as it was hard, he was out,” (David) Griffin said. “His whole life, he rolled out of bed bigger, better, and more talented than everybody else. As soon as it was hard, it was over.

Rubio trying to carry the Jazz to start the game.

Decent game from Rubio tonight. Jazz need him to be at least that good in order to not be a liability.

I thought he stunk pretty bad actually, outside of okay-ish shooting (6/13).

Yeah, I agree, he was only ok despite the good stat line.

32 minutes
21 pts (6/13 FG) (4/7 from 3)
4 ast
7 reb (3 OREB)
1 stl
5 TOs

That connection between him and Gobert is all over the place right now. Nice too see the deep 3s from him tought.

Interested to hear your thoughts on the many people that argue against LaVine's effectiveness citing advanced stats that suggest his team is not better with him on the floor.

He mainly needs to figure out how to not be terrible at defense. If he becomes even an average defender, he’ll be a net positive player.

He was god-awful as a raaaaaw rookie and was forced to play point guard for a year and a half. He got hurt early last year and thus played 24 of his 47 games in the Point Wiggins era when the wolves played generally worse for strategic reasons (the rest of the team played 24/82 games with point Wiggins, 29%, Zach was over half).

It's becoming very evident that the defensive dysfunction we suffered last year didn't depart with Zach.

People say the spurs are more effective with Kawhi off of the floor also lol.

Thats what i kept saying. You cant make up for lack of defensive interest in your two main guys who play way over 30 min by signing someone else while keeping the weak guys. Its kinda like when you need to pee, you cant delegate that, you need to do it yourself.

He has tantalizing talent. The dude has one of the best natural shooting strokes in the league, he can elevate over anyone, and once the game slows down for him completely, he should be able to get any look that he wants. Even on defense he's got the tools. He has one of the best lateral quickness in the league, he is effective at getting into passing lanes and contesting with his length and athleticism at times. He's got to get stronger and understand what he and the team are trying to do on defense, but I have always thought everything was always there and he's just gotta put it together (kinda like Wiggins).

So this team with Zach LaVine in Jimmy Butler's spot would be just the same defensively?

We love him.

The guy is so polarizing, and it helps that he looks like Wolverine throwing out assists, getting steals and knocking jumpers.

No, that's certainly not what I'm saying. That was more of a knock on KAT than Jimmy.
