Re: 2020 NBA Draft prospects
Toppin reminds me a little of Brandon Clarke and Wiseman is a poor man's Chris Webber with more athleticism. A lot of the touted PG's in the next draft are really struggling this year, especially Anthony at UNC. If we end up trading RoCo & Dieng for Russell and got really lucky in the Lottery and ended up with Wiseman, I suppose Wiseman could make up for a lot of Dlo's flaws at the rim:
C- Towns
F - Wiseman
F - Wiggins
G - Culver
G - Russell
C- Towns
F - Wiseman
F - Wiggins
G - Culver
G - Russell

I'm liking Obi right now.....
I think that he has huge potential. Great size, quickness and athleticism.
He will be in the top 3-5 picks in my opinion. Lamelo, Wiseman and this guy have impressed me so far but I have not seen a lot of players
I didn't notice his age before your comment. I saw that it is his second year in college and thought he was 19-20

One year of prep school after high school AND redshirted his first year at Dayton. That will keep his stock a little lower, my guess is he'll go around 5-10....right around where we'll likely be.

But given that lottery luck why not go with
C- Towns
F - Wiseman
F - Covington
G - Culver
G - Wiggins
And hopefully have a team that can play offense and defense?

If we got the top pick, I would either trade the pick or trade Towns. I don't think the two would be a good pairing.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft prospects
My current personal Top 5 big board probably goes
Wiseman
Edwards
Hampton
Anthony
Toppin
Need to continue to do research, though.

The interesting thing is though, we look for the PG to be the team leader to build around when rarely has that roster construction model resulted in championships.
A lot of great PGs in the league. Very few of them have championships to their name.

Hampton is a very intriguing prospect but I read an article that said he has been really struggling overseas. Keep in mind that I don't know the credibility of the source.

Who would you trade the top pick for? Same question for Towns.
Id say keep it take the BPA if that is Wiseman then so be it. Towns has not shown he's the alpha of a contending team. maybe he needs to be relegated to second fiddle if his ego can handle it. Plus you have about 8-9 years of control for the top pick, and only a matter of time before Towns eyes start to wander.

If you had had to theoretically find a team that would be the best trade partner for Towns, what team would that be and what would you want from them for a return?

Unless you can get a young core piece for the top pick then I would keep both and evaluate during the next draft. If you were to trade Towns in that scenario you are looking at getting back a top draft pick in the 2021 draft which to me looks very talented.

That's what I am asking.
Don't think we will get anywhere near a fair deal if we trade Towns. And other teams will try and send picks back for him with an exp, so I don't see any team willing to take on Towns right now. Plus his D would hold back any good returns

I had a look at Halliburton and he reminds me of Kevin Martin

Besides body type, I don't see the comparison at all. Halliburton is pass first, plays within the system, with good defense. Martin was an isolation scorer who was terrible at defense. What am I missing?

Re: 2020 NBA Draft prospects
Shooting technique and body type is what makes me think this. My 3 needs in a PG:
1. Proficient FT and 3pt shooter
2. Ability to stand in front of man on D
3. Feed team mates and not clog up the lane

I just had my first look at Haliburton, and he reminds me of a shorter Ben Simmons, but a more willing shooter.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft prospects
I have a strange feeling that we will finally have some luck at draft and get a an elite PG.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
