Culver has shown much more than Doumbouya so wolves need something more.
If Detroit wants to unload their busts and give the keys to whichever PG they get between Suggs/Cunningham.
Then Culver/Okogie/Nowell for Doumbouya/Hayes.

Culver doesn't have that kind of value.

Doumbouya and Hayes look like busts to me anyway.

I see.
Spoiler:
So, I made unfounded claims about his posts while picking them apart according to you. But Shrink can make claims about Personal Beefs about what is behind Wolveswin's Towns trade posts and claim some kind of moral high ground and start trying to get him and others to stop posting here, talking down to them about what is and what isn't allowed to be posted here due to shrink's imaginary level of reality for "real-fantasy-GM and what his own posts have been here? Are you serious? Have you really read his posts? If he's not talking down to Wolveswin he's just calling me a liar and hiding from his own posted words.

The UNDERLINED of this quote of yours is bunk Mr. Mod Calinks. That is not objective work. That is not a job well done. No. Yes we both probably deserve the dunce corner. But that's not what that line says, is it. This is more letting shrink be shrink as usual.

I would gladly fall in line but now Your words were now unfounded. Best I can do is what I've been doing. Hide these responses in SPoilers. Therefore those that don't want to, don't have to.

My only desire was to get him to stop making things up himself, stand by those posts he hammers us with when they go wrong, and stop acting like he's got a lock on what's acceptable quality realGM suggestive posts. The last just being plain lame and a mod here should have stepped in on him then.

I told Wolveswin I had to put him on ignore because all his trade suggestions all ended in Warriors favor each time and so to me there is something up with that. But to each his own. Shrink actually went to a level where he's trying to browbeat the guy, acting like shrink knows what is considered quality intellectual "real" GM talk, basically trying to tell Wovleswin he is not a high enough intellectual to discuss things at shrink's fantasy land of "real"GM. Is he serious? Once again, the guy who thought Beasley could have been attained in FA for the exact same 10MM or less/yr that he turned down Denver for. Shrink, this bastion of his own "real"GM quality was so far from reality that it can no longer be accepted. His posting style should no longer be accepted. His imagination of himself should no longer be accepted to browbeat other posters ideas and thoughts. What's worse is he used the same extrapolation of what was behind Wolveswin's posts to go after him, yet all his posts to me in the last week have been calling me a liar for extrapolating what his actual posted words mean. It is literally the same way he posts.

None of this would be an issue if this guy wasn't so determined to smash/bash/destroy/ridicule anyone that ever questions him, even once, he'll take it on forever. But worse, he's allowed to. By you Calinks. Great work.

I'll take a month off on my own. This tiny corner of realGM can wallow in the drop of action. Reddit is but around the corner and just fine. If this is what mods here do and don't do, what's the point. Try to be better Calinks.

(the nerve of that guy posting in large red mod talk. - Jim Gaffigand voice)

This is on you 100%. Dont try to blame Calinks for flat out telling you knock it off after others had said similar (maybe less overtly.)

Take more than a month if you need it. You have some good points and hope your back in a different fashion.

If they will incentivize then why not? It's a big contract expiring so what can it hurt if it helps you clean up your roster mistakes. However, why would they incentivize unless getting a significant piece back in return, and not just a collection of bad players we are trying to unload. Who would you include?

If Rosas wanted to take risks, I would inquire on a Culver/Reid for Aaron Nesmith and pick asset from Celtics. Since Nesmith has started so slowly maybe they could be enticed by Reid or some one else from the logjam end? Wolves need to build shooting and Nesmith will settle in at this level sooner or later and become a good one. peace out

Nah nesmith seems like a major bust, if he can’t make it on the Celtics he can’t make it anywhere.

Blake isn’t an expiring - he has a $39 mil players option for next year that he is sure to pick up. He was voted the 5th worst contract in the NBA over on the Trade Board. There will always be injury concerns, but Piston fans say he is selfish, and doesn’t look like he cares and no team would want him around young players. I haven’t seen him, but if this is true, I doubt that he will start trying harder if traded to MIN.

Even so, if the incentive is great enough, taking on dead money could make sense. It’s possible he may even accept a buyout, either there or here. But without knowing the incentive, it’d be hard to know if he’d be worth it.

I understand you're frustrated as we all are because the smartest and most competent front office on paper and maybe in practice front office we've ever had is giving us nothing worthwhile. I agree with a lot of what you think, but I dont care for the attacks and its not just on Shrink. Yes I've got a long history with Shrink and others and while we've differed it's been respectful. That's the only point where I'm coming from. Debate the crap out if the argument but the debate on the person is tiring to me. That's what I'm seeing and that's what I'm through with...this board and everything else in this country,. Love the wolves since I transferred to Twin Cities in high school from bumblef** Iowa. Love them now that I live in the desert. But I'm just too old and too tired to see time wasted arguing about people who all have same goal even if way to get there is different. If you feel I've mischaracterized you then my apologies.

I'd have to check trade machine again but think Rubio, Layman, Juancho, Culver, Okogie for Grffin and Hayes works. Basically pieces that are smaller and dont work for us might do it. Culver and Okogie could have rotation value in right situation. It's a punt on pieces that don't work to get a player that is broken to get out of the $ earlier and maybe it's a big expiring chip down the road and puts guys we want to see more minutes for in a situation where it has to be done.

Put this on gsws trade board as well.

Minny gets oubre and wanamaker.

Both guys fit with how minnesota runs their offense. Oubre has played some pf in Phoenix and gs, so he replaces okogie.

Dlo
Bease
Ant
Oubre
Kat

Gsw gets rubio.

Hes big enough to defend sgs, so he can play next to curry when needed. Hes also a much better facilitator and fit for the motion offense.
And will be even better next year with klay returning

I wouldn't trade Reid under almost any circumstances. With his pedigree, age and improvement, he could be a solid replacement for KAT if a trade becomes inevitable. I would keep all of the Wolves' young guys except Culver.

Reid was very little cost so having to give him up for someone that could end up an elite shooter of the league wouldn't be so bad. Plus, I've liked what Reid has shown as far as having a solid backup future. But he's had a lot of starts and I don't think he's shown us that starter level consistency. Sure he's young. You could be right. But I would give up a possible center for a possible elite shooter. This team just can never win without building a collection of shooting capable players to compete. Anyway that was my thinking. Use that enticing occasional play of Reid to sell high.

I think back to last year. The first half of the year, the team was pushing a message but the personnel wasn't matching the message. It resulted in a roster overhaul at the deadline. Guys were shipped out. Guys were brought in. Guys were promoted.

Last year, as Jedzz has reminded us many times, the message was about 3-point shooting.

This year, the message I've heard maybe as much as anything is about playmakers/ballhandlers.

Read on Twitter

How hard does this get addressed at the deadline? I think it could be a big emphasis. We've seen minutes altered in recent weeks for guys like Okogie and Layman. These aren't playmakers. They have to be set up. Hernangomez mostly has to be set up too. Davis obviously. These are all guys on the fringes who I feel could be the most likely to be dealt, as the team looks for more playmaking.

Now, looking at targets, especially at the forward position, I think of the list of guys we looked at this summer. The name that seems to intrigue me the most is still Aaron Gordon. Didn't come into the league with the skill, but averaging 3.8 assists since the start of the 2018-19 season is nothing to scoff at. Do Tucker, Nance, Grant, Jones, etc have that in their repertoire? Definitely not to that extent.

(I know we'd all like to see video of him going against a good defender, but this will have to suffice in its place)

Look at the G League as well. I think Trier is a definite playmaker. So is Tyler Cook. I could see either guy make a transition to the big club at some point. I could see moves made to clear room for them, as happened last year for Naz and JMac.

What can Wolves get for Rubio, Culver, Juancho, Layman and Okogie?

Would Rubio, Culver, and Jauncho for Gordon and Bamba work?

Collins seems unlikely due his contract demands. As a RFA somebody is going to give him an offer sheet that will be an overpay, and that contract will have a good chance of being a poor long term deal. The Wolves can't afford to pay him a max or near max salary because it would absolutely kill the team's financial flexibility. Also, I'm highly skeptical that DLO/Collins/KAT is the core of a great team.
