Starters: Suggs, Edwards, McDaniels, Towns, Turner
Bench: Russell, Nowell, Okogie, Juancho

Turner would cover for a lot of defensive shortcomings. Let Russell close when he has it going. He wouldn’t go for it but he just has a lot of holes in his game to be a starter.

If we can trade DLo for Westbrook Id call Washington right now.

DLo's off-ball defense as been absolue garbage leaving the shooter in corner wide open and not even attempting to close down the shooter

Those corner 3’s weren’t on DLo they were on Ant on rotation. You could see Finch yelling at him for closing out in a bad angle. He was suppose to close out and block the passing lane (something that he’ll learn in the off-season)

Finch should’ve made the adjustment earlier to put Ant on the farthest guy from the action in those last few PNR

I was driving home from grocery night with ‘CCO on.
Caught just the end of the 4th, was able to give DLo some props.
Got home, unloaded the car, checked the results. Typical Wolves.
Boxscore —-> DLo -10 ha, should’ve known that last little spurt in the 4th was a fluke. Must be what’s blinding some around here. Those spurts that total a -10 on the night.

To be fair, most of the -10 was when he was in with the second unit. That entire second unit was garbage. I don’t think that was so much DLo as the other four were horrid.

And that’s coming from someone who has been as down on DLo as someone could be.

Towns, Russell and Edwards with 30, 26 and 24 points, respectively.

Do the Wolves really need more offense? Beasley the likely candidate to be moved for another defender. In the last two games, the Celtics shot 19-42 3PT (45.2%) and Pacers 14-28 3PT (50.0%).

That’s fair. And nothing against you personally, but how many MAX players get dominated by the other teams bench? I haven’t gone through the list personally, but I do know most max players (who actually deserve to be max players) would dominate another teams bench.

This is also an indictment against the thought he’d make a good 6th man.
We really want a 6th man who leads us to a -10 point differential?

I’m no DLo defender. I think it was a fireable trade. We traded maybe the worst contract in the league for another horrific contract and gave a lotto pick. Not great.

But we’re stuck with DLo so we have to make the best of it at this point. And to be fair, this was one of Russell’s better games. I don’t think the -10 is indicative of his play.

Calinks wrote:Team needs to gel and Finch can get a lot more creative with how he uses Dlo, KAT, and Ant. You could do some crazy stuff but they dont' have any of that down yet. They were just playing ball, hit some big shots to get OT but crap offense and ace shooting from the Celtics won the day. Next season we cannot play defense like we have been, this isn't just on Dlo, we have been horrible all season giving up three's its systemic issue, our defensive scheme this season does not work.

Exactly right. I hate agreeing with you all the time. :)

We just got beat by a veteran team with a performance from Tatum that was ridiculous.

They need practice time and a new defensive scheme that is drilled into them so they do things without thinking. I'd move on from Vanterpool.

They need tons of practice time period. Veteran teams can get away without it more than we can.

Nonetheless, we went a little cold and they made clutch shot after clutch shot. We played them tough.

It’s literally his 3rd game back from injury and you’re complaining about him not dropping 30 with the second unit (mind you he’s playing off ball).

You bringing up the -10 and not watching the game is why I hate advanced analytics aka gentrification of sports. So many dumb things affect a players +/- like the turnover Big Mac had before half time that lead to DLo fouling Kemba to stop a fast break.

If you didn’t get a chance to watch the game, do judge a player by the +/- cause it’s misleading

An IQ, and defense. But that's besides the point. If were gonna have a ball hog point guard Id rather have Westbrook than DLo, at least Westbrook plays both sides of the court.

Trade DLo for him ASAP.

Him and Beal can have fun putting up zero calorie numbers with the worst defensive rating in history.

In a microcosm it’s misleading, yes.
But over a larger time frame it’s just fact.
He’s a great offensive threat who just so happens to give up more than he produces.

It’s been well documented my statisticians through out his ENTIRE career.

Interesting. You seem defensive. I don’t remember mentioning anything about Rubio in what you just quoted.

Rubio is Meh. But DLo is bleh.
Give me a pg who plays d, can shoot okaying (btw, that’s not Rubio) and can get execute a post entry pass. (I’m have Teague ptsd)
