Vando slapping that oop-attempt out of the air is probably my favorite Wolves highlight in a long time. It's got such an **** YOU NOT IN MY HOUSE kind of energy to it.

Can anyone who went to the game confirm this is how it went down when Ant was announced??
?s=21
I can see it happening….I mean they would have to carry me out if he looked at me

Missed the game, but it seems like it went well. Kind of crazy that we've won 6 straight home openers with our overall lack of success.

How do you guys feel about McDaniels?
Watched the game and he looked awesome on the defensive end (Okogie too). Looked like Isaac-lite to me. First time watching him so don't know if I'm on point or off base.

We love the guy. He dropped in the draft after a mediocre freshman season at Washington, but people forget he was every bit a Top-5 talent coming out of high school, up there with those future stars.
Here are two indications of just how good he can be. First, one of our best local sportswriters thought for a while that he would end up being a better prospect than Ant (he’s recanted though since then). Another has said that we might want to consider a timeline based on Edwards and McDaniels, and trade away Towns and DLo. Losing a talented KAT is hard to replace for a non-FA destination like MIN, but the idea of Edwards PLUS Jaden shows what level he is thought of around here. We believe he can be a legitimate star.
Glad you enjoyed watching him - we love him too.

Thanks for the insight! Did not know he was a top 5 recruit in HS. Definitely looks talented, especially on the defensive end. Looks like the perfect 4 in today's NBA particularly if he can hit the 3 at a high clip.
Good luck on the season! If Wolves defensive intensity always looks like that, u guys are gonna be a dangerous team.

It was nuts!
Building was going crazy.
I think Okogie got robbed of some blocks and steals for sure.
Were you there? What was the atmosphere like?
It was great! We sat in the TWolves org area by the media and the wives and all that. Actually sat next to the marketing VP and just in front of McKinley Wright’s folks. It had the feeling of something that was in the making a long time. There’s just a great vibe right now.

It's the reason why several of us are not willing to part with McDaniels in a deal for Simmons...

That was a lot of fun! Just got done watching the game.
Excited to see Beverley thrown into the mix, but encouraged that we won't have to rely solely on him for our defensive improvement.

31 turnovers is insane . Lol.
I like mcdaniels. He and okogie need to know their roles. Guard the other teams best scorers, and be scrappers. Let the big 3 do the scoring and if your lane is open, get the easy bucket when presented. Those 2 can’t be allowed to shoot contested shots early in the clock

It speaks to what we can do when healthy. In 2017 we were between 3rd and 4th in the west until Butler went down and we fell to 8th. We were 2-0 last season before KAT went down. Also remember teams take about 2-3 weeks to find their rhythm. When we had bad coaching it wasn’t as evident in the early days of the season (more of a free for all.) Overall, not surprising that we start well, but our problem has always been staying healthy and staying motivated.

- What does Kat’s hat say?
- I didn’t listen to all the interviews, but I’ve noticed how much Ant always talks about non-stars like Okogie and Rubio, and DLo talks about the stars, he KAT and Ant.
- That said, I enjoyed KAT and Finch giving Okogie a lot of credit. Josh is playing for his career, since he wasn’t extended with his rookie deal expiring after this year. I like him described as a tone-setter - Towns is right, that we can win games by upping our defense. The offense will be fine, and I’m happy Finch has devoted so much practice time to the defensive end.
- I hadn’t noticed it before the interview, but Ant reminds me physically of a smaller Kevin Durant. Maybe it’s the long arms, maybe it’s the chin, maybe it’s the eyes - not sure what. I hope he doesn’t grow that beard. Not a bad guy to be like.
- Finch always reminds me physically of a suburban uncle, taking his brother-in-law and family out to the Olive Garden.

Ant looks like a mix of Durant and Jordan facially.. like he could be their son.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
