Did you watch the game?

I watch almost every game and have so for 32 years! is that good enough for you. How many do you watch?

The guy could be fired up arguing calls and you rip him for that. Now he's quiet and you rip him for that.
I said he didn't have a great night but he still had 17 and 12.

What is your point?

From Atlanta I wouldn’t want Collins I think he’s a bad contract and is overrated.
I was thinking something like Okongwu or Jalen Johnson/Reddish/2022 top 8 pick (if they stay bad all season), 2023 frp, and meh filler( Capela probably or Gallo or Bogdanovic?)

I definitely see Towns in Atlanta with Trae and Collins.

I came to say "wow!" about Antman, and to also tell you to move KAT and DLo, but you are of course way ahead of me.

What do you think of this trade? Add in picks and pick swaps as needed to even out:

I don't think the Bulls do that trade. LaVine is a monster right now, and the Bulls are firing on all cylinders. How ironic would it be for LaVine to come back here though. If all parties say yes, then I would as well. A core of Ant - LaVine - Simmons would be amazing. All we'd need is a paint protector and that's a spooky team.

So are all here now in agreement that this team/roster is going nowhere or do we just blame the current 3-7 record with an easy schedule on bad luck or injuries or god again?

This franchise is going nowhere until these things happen:

1. Glenn Taylor leaves
2. We either get a new stadium or relocate
3. Hire a new POBO or GM

As for the team:
1. Build around ANT (including getting vets that HAVE won a championship and are actually good players themselves)
2. Everyone else is tradeable so extract as much value as possible

Regarding the game last night and not because of Wiggins's performance I just want to say...

F.U.C.K ROSAS. This was the guy that ruined EVERYTHING THE MINUTE he made that horrendous trade for **** DLO.
One of the most horrible trades in Timberwolves history and we have a lot of those.

After all the **** he's been through off the court in the last couple of years, he just doesn't quite seem the same on it to me. This team isn't going to get anywhere as currently constructed. I'd look to deal him closer to the deadline and try to build around Ant and whatever we get in the next 2 drafts.

Feels like the names thrown out there are Wiseman, Jaylen Brown, or Ayton. Wiseman has the highest ceiling, but we'll be getting him and probably a bunch of FRP that will be extremely late in the draft.

Wiseman is a bust, I say hell no to him.
Ayton also will be overpaid for being an slightly above average center. Wolves need to stop building around a center. I think teams that are disappointing that may want to add Towns and have some interesting assets are Atlanta and maybe Toronto?

Raptors is the team, Barnes is our guy to target in Towns trade. But who has faith that Ujiri won’t rob Gupta blind?

Towns + 2x Filler FOR Barnes + Dragic (buyout) + Boucher or Birch + 2022 1st (limited protections) + 2024 1st (protected) + 2023 1st Swap

Raptors would have 3+ years with Towns next to Siakam — both not 1A players, but maybe can elevate their games on same roster. Nice supporting cast of FVV, OG, and GTR.

Wolves tank to rebuild around Edwards, Barnes and 1 of the 4 bigs in top 6: Paolo, Chet, Jalen or Yannick.

With Raptors 1st in 15-20 range, draft BPA but most likely a PGOF flyer: Montero, Chandler, Washington or Davison.

Your 2022/23 Minnesota Timberwolves:
2022 Top 6 | Reid
Barnes | JV
McDaniels | Bolmaro
Edwards | Beasley
Russell* | 2022 Raptors 1st

*Russell leads the tank with his remaining time in MN, until he can be traded as expiring 2022 offseason or 2023 trade deadline. Same with Beasley.

I’m not sure the Raps would trade Barnes for Towns. I could be wrong, but I just think Towns’ value is in a bad place now. But maybe. I’d love Barnes. His shot, not great, but he’s a super high BBIQ two-way player this team desperately needs next to Ant (Pippen if you will).

I’ve always thought the Pels. If you could get a ton of picks, including this years, unprotected; a young player like NAW; then Valencius and salary filler. That’d be a nice haul. They have a ton of picks they’re sitting on and probably are desperate to keep Zion happy.

For some reason last night loss didn’t upset me as much as the last 4. They’re were some reassuring things and things that still raise a concern going forward.

Good:

-Ant aggressive out the gate. It was like somebody told him his crush was in the front row. He was finishing at the rim which forced defenders to back up then his shot started falling. 16 in the 1st, we all knew he would end the game with 40+

-Offense plays/motion: We finally got into some new sets we haven’t seen yet and they looked affective. My favorite was the 1st half Ant & Naz PNR that led to a KAT easy dunk. It was good to see we actually have more to offer than Horns.

-DLo deferring to the hot hand. It was good to see him realize it was Ant’s night and fed him until he subbed out. His stats were exactly what we need from him 18-20 on 46%/40% and 6+ asst.

-Taking advantage when opposing stars sit: Similar to Bucks and Nuggets game, we took advantage of the minutes when Steph wasn’t on the floor. Normally those are the times when our bench plays but Finch let DLo and Ant bring us back into the game. This is a smart gameplan going forward.

BAD:

-Foul trouble: Dlo and Jaden had 2 quick fouls and GSW was in the bonus at 6 minutes. This changes our whole gameplan and forced us to play JMAC and Okogie when that wasn’t the original plan. DLo stopped playing aggressive and they targeted him on defense. Jaden needs to fix this issue asap

-OREB: Why do opposing centers always have career nights against us? Even the below average ones. Looney shouldn’t have 17 rebounds cause he should get played off the court in a matchup with Towns. We REALLY REALLY need a true Big man.

-Bench Contribution: Outside of Naz, our bench continues to struggle badly. Beasley seems to be thinking too much, Vando/Okogie are non factors on O and Prince DNP. We are in need of a Jamal Crawford/Lou will type 6th man who can contribute to what our big 3 produces.

I for one don’t want quantity if trading Towns. Screw that mess. Go after the single best quality youth on roster now, or wait until after lotto and get best quality pick one can get (top 5).

Baloney. He didn't get owned by anybody. I'll grant you he didn't have a great night by his standards. He owned up to it.

Arguments like that are amateurish and based more on prejudice than anything. I get it you don't like the guy.

If the Wolves could trade DLo for Simmons straight up, I think they do that and see what the team looks like with Towns.

Love him or hate him, Towns skillset is a great fit next to Ant. Zach LaVine is too similar to Edwards to be as good a fit.

This is exactly where I'm at with a potential KAT trade.
