Put me in camp Scoot. He looks great so far. Incredibly quick, strong, and athletic. And he’s pass first.

I love Scoot. I would have driven KAT to the airport in a deal for him. That said, he’s a 19 year old playing the most difficult position in basketball to learn. He’ll probably struggle for the first half of the year, much like Ant, and start figuring it out in half two.

That said, Victor is a different beast. I think if he stays healthy, he’ll change the game. Just the space he can cover on defense is incredible. I remember seeing a 17 year old Victor dominate a 19 year old Chet a couple years ago. He’s different.

I’m not comparing Scoot to Wemby. I’m saying Scoot will never have any problems getting to the rim in the RS. His first step is lightening quick.
KAT in the 2024 playoffs: 19.1, 9.0, 2.6 on 46.6 / 36.1 / 85.5.

Hopefully he'll finish better than he did in the G League.

RoY vote should be exclusively for how the player played that year. Not a guess of how good they will be later.

I agree, but I heard a sportswriter say he still takes heat for voting for Brogdan over a half season of Embiid!

That's idiotic. Brogdon was the best rookie that year.

The most common comp I have heard for Scoot is Russell Westbrook.

Scoot 3 games vs NBA teams:

31.3 mins, 15.7 pts, 1.7 rebs, 5.7 ast, 4.7 tovs, 50.6% TS, 4.7 fouls

He has a ways to go.

That looks good to me from a rookie PG in preseason. Almost 16 points with a lot of usage it would appear with 31 minutes. New team, too. I think if you check out a Portland board they’re digging it.

I've been unimpressed so far. He's sloppy and careless with the ball.

13 points on 12 FGAs, while only getting to the line 2 times.

I think he has a chance to be pretty good, but I expect him to have a very tough rookie year.

What’s “tough” then? Define it statistically. Because those won’t be anywhere near where his averages end up.

Wemby is up to 5 blocks early in the third quarter tonight. He's going to average 4 or more a game and be the the Defensive Player of the Year in the NBA.

I'm curious...how will the Spurs match up defensively against the Timberwolves?

My initial thought would be to put him on KAT, that would probably be best for the Spurs. If you put him on Rudy, then Collins is chasing KAT around. If you let him roam off Jaden, KAT has big height advantage on Keldon.

For those who think the Spurs will be tanking this year I see no likelihood of "The Process" there. They handled the Warriors A team easily tonight. Wemby is that good. They could potentially beat anybody.

Definitely not tanking, but with youth comes inconsistency.

I'm expecting the Spurs to be a playoff team easy. Time will tell.

Definitely not easy. I have them fighting for the last play-in spot.

So if they are definitely a playoff team you're putting them at 6th seed plus?

Yes. I saw how easily they handled the Warrior's A team and I have them as 6 or better not needing a play in game.

I could be wrong, but with Wemby on the court he changes everything.

Putting too much stock in preseason game where Curry and Thompson shot combined 5-24 and 2-14 on 3s.

They shot like ****. Wemby intimidated them.
I'm only half joking. I bet most teams shoot less than their average against the Spurs.

And we are top 3 according to you.

So at this point who are the other 4 teams?
