I know it's overreacting to just a awful shooting game but KAT really just doesn't fit on the team anymore. I know the offense will come around but he's just such a liability on defense. Dude needs to slim down and have better agility.

Some goods from this game - Gobert blocking shots; Towns wasn't in foul trouble (maybe he should); the double picks with Gobert/Towns seems to work fairly well they just missed a few passes; Wolves looked ugly but only loose by 3

The good: Rudy's defense and rebounding was up a notch from last year.
Ant grabbed 13 rebounds.

The bad: Everything else looked truly awful.
Conley was a nonfactor and couldn't keep the wheels from flying off the bus offensively.

KAT's decision making and shooting were truly awful tonight, but I wouldn't say he was too slow. I actually thought KAT's defense was pretty solid.

I was talking about how he can't fly by his defender or shoot with more space because a PF can stick to him closer than a center would.

Rudy did his job tonight. The team put him in bad spots with poor decisions and bad passes.

Ant played with good effort but has tunnel vision.

Towns was lackadaisical and indecisive. I feel like a lot of this is him still not understanding/knowing what his role actually is.

They always lose at **** Toronto so whatever, at least they got that trip out of the way.

Wolves need Jaden back asap.

He's been guarded by PFs for most of the last 2 years (even when he plays center), so I'm not too worried about that aspect of his game.

Wolves 8 of 31 from 3. Raptors were 14 of 35 from 3.

Same chit as last year.

Instead of saying 3 of our 6 best players play the same position, I'll say this: in a league where spacing and switching rule supreme, 3 of our 6 best players are SLOW. You could say 4 out of 7 if you consider slow-mo a top 7 player on the roster.

This roster is poorly constructed and a game like tonight is a great example of a team with superior but mismatched players losing to a team with inferior players that fit together well.

This was already a thing when Jarred Vanderbilt was the starter, though. The bigger issue is that Towns just flies off the rails when starts off poorly.

Need to cut the Rudy post ups. Team can't make them, and even if you get them to him it's not going to be a great look. KAT/Ant should make a few more going forward. But overall, a lot of room for improvement on offense. Just generally need better connective passes.

Transition D looked questionable, but good in the half-court, though that's a bit of what you expect vs Toronto. When KAT/Naz were on together in the 2nd half the transition D seemed particularly questionable.

I liked the team effectiveness on the boards, keep that up and y'all will win a lot of games on that alone.
I bought a boat.

There we go.

Teams dealt with no spacing for decades. No spacing never stopped the Jordan led Bulls or the Kobe & Shaq Lakers from playing well on offense. Quit hating Rudy because it's the popular thing to do. He was the teams best player tonight, which I know says more negative things about Ant and KAT than it does good things about Rudy but the point still stands.

We get it. You're a Towns hater and its pervasive in your thinking.

Towns didn't have a great game but he still had 19-10-3 ast and 4 blks.

They made 6 more 3's didn't help.

can't imagine that KAT wants to really be on this team compared to what kind of role he could have on quite a few other teams

has to play out of position, been usurped by ANT as the franchise player

The only problem is a bad pass to Rudy is anywhere below the top of his head.

League had figured him out by putting a small guy on him. He needs to figure out how to deal with that and doesn't matter what team he is on.
