Big ball wins games against small ball. Canada was too small.

Four years from now, they will have Zach Edey in the middle

Nickeil Alexander-Walker also went scoreless in the game, playing less than three minutes in the game. NAW did not make a field goal in these Olympics totaling just three points as he never found consistent minutes on a Canada team stacked with great wing players.

Canada was poorly managed. They let stars players too long and did not use their rotation well. You win Olympics as a team specially with high level défense. Kerr did understand that and that’s why they gonna win it. France was great , défense was rock solid without Rudy.

Canada was mismanaged. Their 2nd best player (Jamal Murray) was ass. They never utilized Kelly Olynyk 's passing or playmaking. The team just packed creation outside of SGA and relied too heavily on Dillon Brooks and Lu Dort who are extremely limited 3+D types. Honestly FIBA doesn't really utilize 3+D players well with the smaller court.

Yup, and some other young talents. USA should cruise to the Gold.

The former Purdue Boilermaker and now-Grizzlies center cited the need to properly get himself in shape for the 2024-25 NBA season, which includes playing in the NBA Summer League this month.

"I have made the difficult decision of pulling myself out of the process to compete for a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with Canada. Since last summer, I have been training and competing nonstop to achieve my goals of winning a national championship at Purdue and making it to the NBA," Edey wrote in a statement.

"I have a duty now to properly prepare for all that is coming my way with being drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies. The work I put in this summer on my body and my game is critical for me to be the best version of myself. Thank you to Canada Basketball and all the fans for your support and understanding."

Yep, basically prioritized Summer League over the Olympics. Worth mentioning though, I'm not sure he would have played much this year.

Last I heard Gobert's injury was in dispute. His coach said Rudy didn't have any surgery and pretty much alluded to Rudy not playing because it was the coaches decision and not related to surgery or anything. France did look really good without him and unfortunately, that's just going to push the narrative that Rudy is overrated.

Rudy is useless in this tournament: no impact offensively as usual, can't defend mobile bigs who can shoot the 3, is useless when has to defend far from the paint. France must play zone defense if they want Rudy to have minutes.

That would be interesting, especially with Victor at the top of a 1-3-1 KG-style!

USA is +100 right now, that will double your money, solid gamble at this point.
