The chances of that happening before the trade deadline is pretty clearly zero. The future chances of the Wolves looking to move KAT depend on how this season and the next play out. At the moment, I'd say the chance of KAT signing an extension this off-season are considerably higher than him getting traded.

I am getting a little bit impatient. Usually there are some indication of coming significant trade such as a little trade to clear space/roster spot. Like Teague, Graham trade. Still waiting for first Gupta move.

We have the open roster spot so we don’t need to make a move. Also it is only 1/5 and the trade deadline is 2/10.

Probably zero unless he asks out. We are in the playoff race despite our starting lineup being out with covid the past 2 weeks. Why would we want to go backwards after finally moving forward?

Very, very small.

New ownership isn't likely looking to start out by going scorched Earth.

That isn’t the only option in trading Towns - going scorched earth.

Towns might be Wolves most valuable asset. He also could be on a ticking clock timeline. He also could not be perfect or even great fit with Edwards. That last point has been debated within many game threads.

Towns is also a center and a non-traditional one at that. Wolves have tried for 7 years building around such a player as Towns.

Add all that up and yes Towns should be trade candidate. Does the mean being shopped or on the block? Probably not. But not untouchable as they say.

Can Towns, arguably Wolves best asset, be used to build a better roster? If the answer is yes, start building. Find a equitable trade and pull the trigger when satisfied.

Well considering the constant trades you have proposed for Towns what is there to be excited about?

You mean, “realistic trades” from RealGM posters?

Who’d have thunk it?

Why would I post trades of a player I don’t want to trade?

Who says I want to trade Towns? Or any fan wants to trade a star player. Or any GM for that matter. If trading Towns can improve the team, wants don’t figure into the equation.

Sounds like the Bucks are letting DeMarcus Cousins go. I'd love to see the Wolves bring him in for the rest of the season. It looks like he's been fairly decent this year and he would add some needed size (since we let Monroe go). I seem to remember seeing that the Wolves had some interest in Cousins before he signed with the Bucks.

KAT and Dlo to the pacers.

Wolves get Sabonis, Turner, Duarte, Lamb, and a first. Can turn around and move Sabonis to get some other talent depending on who you want, or keep him.

My fear with KAT is his girlfriend. I worry she may want him out of MN. He bought her a Porsche for Christmas. That might just be KAT being rich. But, with all the other stuff about freeing KAT I fear she may be in his ear telling him to go somewhere like NYC or California. Bigger cities warmer weather.

A Porsche for KAT is like a tonka truck for regular people. You may have gone down the rabbit hole a little too far.

I also suspect her of being the one who liked the tweet on KAT’s account. In any event, if we were to move KAT, you package him with Dlo and you go for talent now instead of simply rebuilding.

You don’t actually think KAT has this kind of value do you?

Turner AND Sabonis would be too much for Pacers. But you have them throwing in their rookie who they like and a 1st while taking on Russell. If this is what Wolves fans on a Wolves board see as realistic, no wonder other trades I have posted get the reaction they do. Post your trade on TNT at it gets locked.

First, you treat Dlo like a bad contract, I disagree. Even in a down year his assists and defensive stats are up. Dlo has legit value.

Second, Dlo, MB, KAT, and role players could be solid. Also remember that Pacers aren’t getting older as a result of this trade as Dlo and KAT are basically the same age as Turner and Sabonis.

Third, I absolutely think KAT has this type of value. KAT is playing improved defense, his 3 point shooting is elite, and his scoring efficiency is elite. The Pacers draft board liked the idea as did their SB nation. But, for the sake of argument you could take out the first and it is still a good deal for us.

Take out the first and put in on the trade board. Good little truth pill to swallow. Russell is negative value, I wish he could be considered at least neutral - maybe if taking back similar big contract.
