Well, that settles it... I'm planning a trip up to Brisbane so I can have a chance to meet the great man! Always liked Martin, seemed a very humble man.

Is he living in Brisbane now or was it just a weird random purchase for him?

There's been some investment from ex-NBA guys into the NBL recently.

Al Harrington, Josh Childress (who both admittedly played in Aus) and Zach Randolph bought into the new South East Melbourne team, as did Dante Exum which is less random given he's Australian.

Not sure what's prompted it all though.

Lavine is showing an improved defensive IQ in the Pels game tonight. Nothing insane, but he's looking obviously more aware than he used to and man on man defending well tonight.

Agreed - Something I noticed too - Zach will never be an elite level defender, but he could definitely be solid in that area, and looks to have put in the work.

I woud love to get one of Kmart's old Timberwolves checks and start my real estate tycoonship. We could all be Trump's and presidents.

I thnk it's cool that a number of players are jumping into team ownership roles in other leagues and carrying on a connection to basketball in that way intead of just becoming coaches or media.

When its about money, you should go for the smart, not the passionate choice.

Actually, though, I dont know anything about Australian basketball and what kind of revenue growth etc. is happening there. So maybe it might be a smart investment although I cant imagine it.

I disagree. What are you most likely to learn as much about and drive to get better at, something you're passionate about or something that seems "smart"? You should never invest in things that you don't understand and these guys understand basketball.

Whether or not it will work out and be fruitful is unknown, but it's always better to invest in a field that you are an expert in over one that seems good from the outside with a lack of expertise in the industry.

Right, but like I said it's always better to invest in things you actually know about rather than things that seem "smart" from the outside (having little expertise in the area) that's how you get scammed out of all your money.

He's not a threat to score, and he needs to be. Even J Kidd figured it out, not sure Rubio can. Lets see how he does in Phx. They have a nice core.

The answer to that question is the same as it is with every other PG in the league. YES!. On the right team.

Not to be an ass, but I can't remember a pass first non scoring starting pg that has won a championship in the last.......10-20 years. Do you have an example?
