Kat is fine. He is learning to play through doubles. With experience, he'll learn to take better shots and will learn how to recognize then better.

The efficiency is solely due to the 3-point shooting.
2s last year: 7.3-13.0 (.559)
2s this year: 7.3-13.1 (.552)
FTs last year: 2.7-3.4 (.811)
FTs this year: 3.5-4.4 (.800)
3s last year: 0.4-1.1 (.341)
3s this year: 1.4-3.3 (.423)
Assists are nice to see, as are the decreased turnovers, especially with a slight jump in usage percentage and minutes.
Yup, I think one of the reasons why we think he is in a slump is his 2 point% is worse, and honestly rather poor on its own
this year he is shooting 38% from 3-10 ft compared to 46% last year, and 33% from 16 <3 this year compared to 50% last year.

I mean, he had a bad shooting game tonight, he had a few of those last year too, it happens. Before tonight he was shooting the ball with really high efficiency.
You know, I'm actually surprised after looking at the numbers. The 2-point percentage is nearly identical. The difference is he's tripled his 3-point attempts, which obviously can affect your percentage even though he's shooting more of them.
Maybe the better way to put it is he's not living up to expectations. I think everyone expected a big jump from him, but he's pretty much doing what he did last year. But yet it feels like a slump.
I think this is dead on. He's not playing worse this year, but he isn't playing better either. We (I) expected a big jump after his rookie year, some of it due to media hype, but it just hasn't happened yet

Ricky injured wasnt the best for KAT. He, as any center, will have easier time when a PG can set him up. That hardly was the case with Dunn in the floor.
In top of that, Thibs is using Wiggins as a main handler in many situations, and I think it could be a good weapon in the long run, but Wiggins hardly give to Towns good looks at this point.

His prime is over. It's all downhill from here for the Wolves...

Re: **The Official Karl-Anthony Towns Thread**
Ricky stated in his locker room interview that there are some guys who are primarily looking at their own stats and call their own number instead of totally focusing on team success. I think that was at least partially directed to KAT who seems to be forcing things right now. He takes way too many bad shots instead of passing the ball when the open shot simply is not there. I know, he is just 21 and already puts up big numbers but in my perspective, his impact was much higher last season in terms of making valuable plays on both ends of the floor. This year, at least up to this point, he seems to be at bit too much in love with his individual stats instead of focusing on doing what is necessary for the team.

What a player. So skilled. Smooth. Athletic. The vision is there. The energy. The fire. Hustle. Literally good at every facet of the game of basketball. He and Wiggins can dominate for years.

Has played better recently, but that shooting efficiency is suspect at best. Rebounds like a mad man lately.

Look at the per game shooting numbers though. Seems to be feast or famine with him. Numbers skewed down by three awful games.

Re: **The Official Karl-Anthony Towns Thread**
Karl-Anthony Towns recently scored 40 points twice in a 9-game and 18-day span, in his 100th and 108th career games (21-015 and 21-030).
Kevin Garnett didn't score 40 points in a game until game 353 of his career (23-308). Second came in game 417 (24-264). His third didn't come until career game 722 (28-230) and his fourth and last one was in his final season in Minnesota, in career game 894 (30-255).

He needs to drastically improve defensivly. I thought he would make that jump this season, but he still a - defensively.
