Even if Evans isn't considered a "top ten pick" by the so-called experts come draft time, if we're sitting at 7 and Griffin, Thabeet, Harden, and Rubio are gone already, and we don't have a trade down option, I have no problem reaching for Tyreke Evans a little because he would fit so much better than Teague or Jennings, or the PFs.

I'm hoping that we go into next year with a rotation more like this:

C - Love(30),Jordan(13),Jefferson(5)
PF- Jefferson(30),Smith(12),Gomes(6)
SF- Brewer(20),Gomes(18),DeRozan(10)
SG- Miller(33),Foye(15)
PG- Rubio(28),Foye(20)

what basketball related people, do you mean the draft guys on the internet? (DX, nbadraft.net, chad ford etc)

Yes, how about anyone with a job in sports? That means journalist, scout, front office, etc.

I love Rubio too, but that requires us to win the 1st or 2nd pick. My scenario was based on us staying closer to where we likely will finish. If we miss out on Rubio, I think Ty Evans and ThaBEAST is a nice concelation prize.

If we don't get Rubio, I would replace him in that rotation with either Holiday or Jennings.

The thing about Evans is that I don't think that he'll be a point in the NBA. If he shows that he can play point, however, I would put him in front of Jennings.

As for Aldrich, I don't know much about his game, but I can't seem to get excited about another 6'10" post guy who isn't a dominant athlete.

Watch Aldrich. He's improved so much over the course of the season. He has been pretty dominant for games. But for a mid-1st round pick in a weak draft, he's something to get excited about.

I'd still take Mullens over Aldrich, that extra 2 inches is a huge difference.

I was a little disappointed in the way Harden couldn't get off a shot in crunch time yesterday.

he'll learn, Harden is only 3 weeks older than Derozan and over 2 years younger than Mayo who he shared all Pac 10 1st team w/ last season. So I expect him to make a few young kid mistakes for now. And the guy who blocked his shot - Gibson - is DPOY and will be 24 in 3 months. He's been around the block a few times.

BJ Mullins is an awful basketball player. I wouldn't use the Boston pick on him, I don't care how tall he is.

I got to admit, when I saw Mullens grab an offensive board yesterday and airball the layup putback attempt laying it way too hard off the glass and get no rim, I was pretty amazed in a bad way, but then on the way back down he skied and snatched the bejeesus out the defensive rebound and just like that it was like "oh yea, he's 7 feet and a very athletic" so I still like him and think he has classic shotblocker/rebounder potential because of his size and athleticism. Not sure where that places him in the draft, but I think after you get out of the lottery, you have to start thinking long and hard about taking him with those kinds of physical gifts.

Totally agree on Mullins. He's a unique talent and somebody that has to be considered with the pick. Mind boggling that Matta won't start him...

If Mullins does end up looking like the best option at the Miami pick, I would rather try to use it to get Deandre Jordan from the Clippers. Not only does Jordan have better physical gifts than Mullins, but he was more productive (more rebounds and blocks) in college, too.

Let's just draft 4 point guards and have them battle it out in the Thunderdome.
Zach Randolph>Frye. Kevin Durant > Oden. Random guy off street> Pritchard.

Mullens is alot more skilled and coordinated than Jordan I'm not sure why his game isn't translating into more production. He's got beautiful form on his free throws, yet only shoots 55%. I think that describes alot of his game.
If you can get him with the Miami pick, you take a risk on the upside.

I absolutely dislike Mullens, but if he's there with the Miami pick, I think you have to take him.

Mullens is quite productive. If he played the 30 minutes per game that he ought to be, he'd be averaging 15/8/2 and be a lock for the top 5.

He's a much better prospect than DeAndre Jordan, who apparently wasn't good enough for us to pick in the 2nd round last year.

I haven't looked at his stats, but he looked horrible in all of the Big 10 tournament games. He doesn't have any insticts as a rebounder. I don't think he's a good defender. I wouldn't trust him to score anything more than 2 ft away from the basket. All he's got going for him is his body.

I like Aldrich because he's a legit center, skilled, and has a skillset that will mesh well with our other bigs. Downside, he's not as athletic as you might want for someone that's supposed to compliment Jefferson and Love.

think of the trade bait aspect too though, even if he never plays, teams are still going to ask for him in every trade scenario just because of what he is
