If the Lakers stay in the Top 3 this year, they also keep their 2019 1st. Instead, they would give up a 2nd rounder to ORL both this year and next year.

So there's two options for what LAL could lose this year

2017 1st to PHI (if 4-6)
2019 1st to ORL (unprotected)

OR

2017 2nd to ORL
2018 1st to PHI (unprotected)
2018 2nd to ORL

I'm not sure if I'm more excited to move up or have Lakers land at 4 or lower.

I think 2015 was only year since the early 90s I didn't watch the lottery from the very beginning. We didn't move up, but that's the one year we didn't get screwed. I will be running around and probably miss the beginning...maybe on purpose.
