One thing is clear to me: Edwards is not yet an automatic post scorer like MJ and Kobe were.

Ant pretty much has no post game. Turning and elevating or stepping back is all he did in that video and IMO that is not a post game. Ju has a post game.

One thing that is lacking tremendously for Ant compared to other superstar level players is the ability to get to and utilize kill spots on the floor.

Jokic or Embiid catch it in a certain spot in the paint, it's all over.
SGA or Luka get the ball at or above the free throw line with any kind of space, it's over.
Giannis gets into the paint with any kind of momentum. Etc.
Was the same way with Jordan/Kobe. They could kill you in 50 different ways from either elbow.

You get to your kill spot and then you execute your decision tree based upon how the defense is playing you and the size and ability of the defenders around you. It's what the best players in the world do so well over and over.

So many times Ant is attacking a loaded up slot gap or taking a step-back from an inefficient area of the floor.

Part of that is also on FInch.

The middle of the floor is always going to be the optimal place to attack a defense from.
If we want Ant to take the next step and solve our crunch time woes we need to find a way as a team to get Ant some realiable kill spots in the middle of the floor he can rountinely utilize that top 1% of 1% athleticism from.

I think a lot of the bad finishing and crunch time play has to do with where the shots are coming from and the angles he is attacking the basket from.
Too many high degree of difficulty attempts.

But he also has to develop some better touch on those contested layups and 8-12 foot jumpers.

KIA MVP ladder has 10 MVP candidates for this year. Here's what they said about Ant.

Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves
Is this the year? Much like Dončić, the 24-year-old Edwards seems poised to grab this award at least once in his career. His game continues to mature, all while his appetite for success grows. Edwards makes no secret of his desire to be the best player in the game and he’s certainly in the top-10 discussion.

Edwards has taken the Wolves to back-to-back conference finals trips, but this is a regular-season award. That means it’ll help his case if the Wolves finish top three in a very competitive West and if Edwards finishes among the NBA’s scoring leaders while also enhancing his other skills and defense.

I asked Google AI if VJ Edgecombe was similar to Anthony Edwards and got this response.

Yes, VJ Edgecombe is frequently compared to Anthony Edwards due to similarities in their explosive athleticism, ability to drive to the basket, and potential as two-way players. Edgecombe has stated he watches Edwards more than any other player, and both share a fearlessness and versatility on the court. However, analysts note they have different strengths; Edwards has a more polished pull-up jumper, while Edgecombe has an exceptional first step.
Edgecombe has been described as having the potential for an extremely high ceiling, with some comparing him to an athletic Anthony Edwards, and an NBA executive has predicted he could become the second-best player on his team as a rookie.

What do they mean by "an athletic Anthony Edwards"? Are they saying he's more athletic than Ant?
Does second best player on his team mean behind Embiid or behind Maxey?

They're the same height 6'5", but Edgecombe is 193 pounds, 40 less than Ant. Possibly more if you believe some of the updated rumors of Ant's weight.
Michael Jordan was 6'5" 195 entering the league.

Never trust AI :D He will be the second best player behind Paul George. Ant doesn't have a polished pull-up from two point range. He looked really good last night but against a G league team.

I forgot they had Paul George because he didn't play. AI is useful. You got to understand it's limitations.
