I think GSW wants to do what Cavs tried to do with us and take Garland so we could give something extra in return. Golden State has holes to fill & they signed a player that plays the same position as their best player. I can't imagine they play together long term, if at all.

We still have until July 6th for DLO to change his mind or have the Wolves looped in for a 3 team trade. KAT & him we're together even before yesterday, so I don't think this sits well with Towns knowing that they were all just in LA. I wouldn't be surprised if he told Rosas that he needs to get something done, no matter who it is.

If we don't sign any FA within the next 3 days, I think something is going to happen with DLO..it might cost us Cov though, which idk if it's even worth is given his defensive impact

Covington would certainly be a Warriors target.

But that speaks to the concerns I voiced about a week back. We can't be so quick to acquire a player deemed a star unless we're absolutely sure the merit belongs there. I would be sick to lose quality assets and be stuck with another max contract that doesn't move the needle. We know we had success with Covington, so until that formula no longer works, lets ride with it and exercise some patience until the right deal surfaces.

At least. He's tall so from that perspective he fits in at SG position.

Yeah could be. I recall there was debate if they could keep Dray if they were able to re-sign Klay and KD. I woudn't think adding DLo changes much there so it might come down to having to choose between a SG who doesn't defend well or their post player who doesn't shoot well.

Guess it might depend what kind of team they want to be and who they are able to develop/sign behind those guys.

The whole meeting thing was stupid. Did any of the other FA signings this season make something like that?

Furthermore, if Russell is KAT friend and player to player recruiting is how things gets done league wise, why Rosas wasnt focused on someone to take Teague as soon as FA started (from there things were easy)?

There is no way we can work on this because someone has to take Teague into cap space, one way or another. And teams barely have any left.

Do we know Rosas didn't go that route? Clearly, it wasn't that easy to do. Also, trading Teague gets you maybe 1/2 way to being able to afford DLo. You'd still need to move (at a minimum) Dieng to free up enough space and being that his deal is a year longer he would have been a more difficult player to move than Teague.

Or.. you can arrange a S&T but then you need a 3rd team willing to take on those cap hits. Either way, you need someone to take rather large cap hits to make this possible. Nets couldn't take back any salary in a deal.

Memphis took Iguodala (who has the same salary than Teague) for a 1st.

Isnt 1/2 way. Teague alone matched for 23.75M. Wolves needed 2.8 additional which they send out to Phoenix (Saric) on the draft night. I think they could have worked together. They also could have been used Reynolds (who they cut a week ago) or Okogie.

At least Rosas didnt overpay, but now we are going to punt the peak of the team 3 or 4 years because we need to draft a guard next season and develop him through the rough 2-3 years every guard has (or more, if he doesnt pan out like Wiggins).

Does PHO have 19m in cap and wanna spend it on a 1st? I don't know that - do you?

Nets couldn't do it.

Maybe MEM values Iggy as a contributor rather than just a salary dump.

There are a lot of variables that can shift the value of an offer.

EDIT: With Phoenix signing Rubio they couldn't have taken on Teague. Maybe if they liked Teague similarly to Rubio it could have made sense but we don't know how they have them rated.

If they didn´t trade for cap space was because it was expensive or Dlo said "No"... so they will not trade for Dlo now ( more expensive than cap space).. END

They can't turn around and trade him now. They would have to wait till December 15th to trade him. He's a GSW till then at the very least.

I believe with the Durant trade not being official until 07/06/19, it would allow a third team like the Wolves to be added to the trade. If I'm wrong, someone will correct me. I don't see it happening so it's kind of moot point.

Silly me...this time yesterday I had Wiggins off the roster, Russell in the fold and looking at what it would take to pry Booker away from the Suns to form the 3 Amigos. :(

Has anyone seen any comment from D-Lo or the Warriors about him signing there?

From what I know, neither is allowed to mention it publicly since it's not official. Kind of like how Culver isn't on our Summer League roster as of now.

They can still make cryptic comments or give props to mates. Don't know if any of this happened.

At least those guys could share their experience with russell to the team. We got DLo’s spirit! Yay!
