Lol, I was exaggerating. No one wants the bucks trash. Marshall, Henson and knight are 8th men off the bench on good teams at best.

You can't backpedal out of this one. You went full (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

Backpedal out of what? I've said Rubio ain't worth even close to that money. He's a 6 million a year player to me. That doesn't make me want to take henson, knight and Marshall though.

Look at who gets paid 12m, Rubio is worse worse than Lowry.

Lowry with 28 yo, was just an average player before the amazing last season.

ehhh Lowry was better in Houston than Ricky is been so far in his career.

I think it's a little too much but as the seasons goes by, by the 3rd or 4th years it'll look cheap...

So....If basketball insiders is right Rubio will make 13.3 in 2016-2017. The cap for that season is supposed to be at least 80 mil. He would have 16,6% of our cap. 16,6% of our current cap is
is 10.4 million. I’m fine paying Ricky 10 million per year when you take into account the massive jump in the tv deal. I think he’s worth that. Next year he’s getting paid the equivalent of 10.2 million and the last one the equivalent of 10 mil on our current cap.

I think it is a fair amount. I feel it is good because Flip has been working with Ricky and Flip knows what Rubio is capable of.

And that hole just got even deeper.

I don't know if it's the most accurate stat, but it's the most important stat. Ultimately you should only care about how a player affects the teams scoring differential.

Except I think it's pretty hard to separate his contributions out when the overwhelming amount of his minutes are played with monster stats guy Kevin Love. Big reason I would have preferred how he did this season before committing huge money. We can cross our fingers I guess.

NBA advanced stats are sort of dubious. All of them said Love was a superstar. Rubio is hanging on a thin branch in that regard.

It's always seemed pretty clear that Ricky makes a difference. The best example would be Ricky's rookie year after he blew out his knee we went from playoff contenders to winning like 3 out of 20, even with Love.

Ricky is (and always will be) the kind of player that irks some fans (mostly those who like football, both footballs in fact), because those who have a deep understanding of the game of basketball love him, and make it clear, and those who don't like him feel like: "they say i don't like RR because im dumb, so i will teach dem dumb!"

No matter what, RR unlikely will become a 16ppg player ever, but as long as he keeps steadingly improving his shot (and he is) and keeps doing the things he does now, like the new aggresive aproach to penetration, he will be a top10 pg for a DECADE, and if you have one of the 10best pg in the league for 10 years, and the pool of youth Minnesota has now, you're in very good shape.

I hope you guys realize one day what a terrible line of thinking it is to compare different players in different circumstances at different points of their careers.

Eh… no, he is not top10, no matter what.

All things considered, I wouldn't take any of those guys before Rubio to run my team.

An albatross that takes up 15-20% of the cap?

I've seen less talented guys make much more.

1° he is a top-15 PG in NBA.

2° So, just because you are spanish and you whatch Rubio since he was 14, the people cant disagree with you ?

Ps: He also had a injury, a big injury, i remember that Rubio before the injury was in the talks to be ROY, i think was Kyrie the other.

the thing is, i ve seen enough to know what player is him, the margin for progression in his case is slim.

Dallas didn't pay Parsons the max, close to the max, but he was a RFA and he basically took Dirks money.
Dallas is a top5? top7? team in the league, they should do that to try to compete, Minnesota is going nowhere, why pay for an inefficient type of guard that does not succeed in the league anymore?
If I were the Wolves Ive probably just traded him.

Id prefer to pay that money to RJackson than to Ricky in todays game.

The thing is, he just turned 24 and still developing physically, also his weakest skill also happens to be the most teachable skill.

Just because you watched someone since they were 14 doesn't mean you were ever qualified to make an assessment on them. All of that watching and apparently you haven't learned anything.

Of course being Spanish makes you right about all things related to Spain and it's people though, right?

I am spanish too... And yes we have many people here that don't understand why Rubio is such a good player. Most people in my country just don't give a **** about defense for example.

Of course RAPM is like black magic in Spain. Advanced stats... That just doesn't exist in Spain. People just pay attention to who scores. Trying to explain that Rubio is above average in offense is almost immpossible task here.

If injuries respect him, Minnesota just got a steal. His impact in the game is huge. His commitment total. 0 issues out of the court.... Etc.

And that list of point guards... Just 2 comments: 1. Ricky is 24 yeara old. 2. Defense.
