We are going to make the playoffs, barring injuries of course.

Rosas could end himself in one move now.

Re: Ricky Rubio
Other than Booker in PHO, Rubio helped Donovan Mitchell a lot in UTA. Hope it will happen with Edwards in MIN.

Maybe it's something, maybe it's nothing, but you'd think the level and support, experience, and ability to relate that Ricky & Ryan can bring to KAT (just losing his mother) and Edwards (having gone through the loss of his mother + grandmother) will be invaluable for KAT & Ant. With Edwards the big concern is his effort, and maybe developing a similar sort of bond like this, and to watch the effort those two put in, could drive him (and the team) to play hard for one another.

I think this is the biggest reason I love bring Ricky back. He will help Edwards and Culver so much on the court. When guys get easy buckets their attitude and self esteem shows. These two need someone to help them more then anyone of the roster and Rubio is that prefect Lego piece.

It’s his entire fit. We never had shooter around Rubio like he got in Utah and Phoenix. DLo, Beasley, Juancho, KAT, Layman all should thrive off of Rubio finding them open. I’m also excited for what he can do with Edwards, Culver and most for me is maybe Okogie.

Yes...but what if the track... is a circle?
Oh, yeah! urinesane, I know you wanted Wiseman, but will stay here for Rubio?
Yes, I actually view the situation now with Edwards a lot differently knowing Rubio will be on the floor helping run things.

Re: Ricky Rubio
On Dane Moore’s podcast, Kevin Tighe of CanisHoopus made a good point that I hadn’t thought of before:
Could you ask for a better mentor for Antman than Rubio?
1. Makes the game easier for him
2. Knows what it’s like to be a star at a young age
3. Also knows the heartbreak of losing a parent (as does KAT and Ryan)
4. He can be the team-first adult in the room, and still respect other people’s need for personal stats.
He also pointed out that KAT can use some Rubio mentorship too. He has credibility too, helping Donovan Mitchell (for Edwards) and Booker (star buddy of KAT). Teams and players do better when Rubio is out there.

I really hope they are able to have fans there for Ricky's first game back, that place will be electric.

Re: Ricky Rubio
He's still got it and has more crafty ways to get points than earlier in his career. I'm excited for the 2nd Rubio run in Minnesota.
Great for him and the fan base, ALSO a much better roster to work with. The best roster he had here (Adelman years) was built counter to his strengths and he still helped the team win.

Re: Ricky Rubio
I'm shocked at how many fans think Rubio is going to be a backup. Really? Do you envision Saunders not starting Rubio? IMO he, Russell and Towns are guaranteed starters. 2 forward spots up for grabs.

Yeah, I can't imagine he will be a backup, he's a starter and would be wise to have on the floor with DLo and KAT.
Rubio can play off the ball better than his previous run in MN and I think having two creators like him and DLo will be a positive (not something that will clash).

This is a really good point. I had only thought about how Rubio compliments DLo, but the truth is, he is one of the NBA’s best complimentary players, regardless of who you pair him with, and the numbers bear that out. He’ll play defense for DLo and Beasley, and his passing will make the game easier for Edwards. We took the least-skilled of the top three prospects, and Rubio could help him maximize those jaw-dropping physical skills faster.
I watch what Edwards does on the court and I find him to be very skilled.

Re: Ricky Rubio
Remember how Rubio made Athony Randolph, Derrick Williams, and Wesley Johnson look like legit solid NBA players at times?
Now just think of what he can do with legit established guys like KAT/DLo and the high potential of someone like Edwards (who unlike DWill isn't just an overrated dunker).
More capable shooters around him than anytime in his career and he's worked to get his 3pt shot up from pretty horrible numbers to league average (which is all he needed to take his game to the next level).
He's also coming in having won his last 8 games!

I’m shocked that it seems shocking to you. My thought DLo is the starting PG, that’s what we brought him in to be.
I think Rubio is past the point in his career where it’s a meaningful designation. Maybe he will end up starting, I just don’t see why he would have to.

If you listen to this clip, Krawczynski, who broke the Rubio deal last night, says due diligence was done to see if he's ready to be that supporting character. Rubio is apparently comfortable coming off the bench if he has to.
