Only in GSW can role players make 27.5 per year and be praised for it. He isn’t even their fourth best player.

he was probably the Warriors second most important player in the finals behind Curry...

Philly has some issues I think. I was envisioning Tucker as a role player, but they were using him like he's prime Bruce Bowen. He was playing heavy minutes and shadowing Tatum right out of the gate. I didn't know they were going to be asking so much from him. He played 33 minutes - I wouldn't be surprised if Gobert plays less than that tonight.

Then their bench...no Thybulle, no Shake Milton, no Paul Reed? I was somewhat surprised. I think they could've used those guys. At least Reed and Thybulle. House/Niang/Tucker/Harris seems like a really unreliable quartet of forwards.

I'd say so - he outplayed Tatum by a clear margin. I thought it was especially impressive, because Tatum outplayed KD so badly in round 1, that it felt like a passing of the torch moment, and Wiggins intercepted that torch in the finals.

Gobert’s minutes will likely be a function of the game situation. A big lead (15+) probably means he gets more rest. A closer game probably means more minutes. Also the knee brace and health are a question. I don’t think he has a serious injury, but we might try and shorten his stints if that becomes an issue.

My Gobert theory is he plays around 31 minutes a game this year. Keep him fresh coming off a long summer, then between matchups, KAT still playing the 5 and "all-shooter" lineup possibilities abound, etc, just makes sense some nights to play him less minutes.

That will also keep him available to go 36 or 37 minutes when needed. But I think we're in a potentially good situation with lineup versatility and depth where we don't have to dump heavy work on him during the regular season.

They really need an elite guard/wing and some other reliable players in those positions then they would be really hard to stop. Relying on Joel to get all the big buckets will be too easy to disrupt for elite defensive teams. If Harden is truly done, they are in big-time trouble.

Harden sure didn't look done when I watched him last night.

Harris is about as consistent and reliable as forwards get.

In reality he makes super Star money and is an above avg role player.

Sixers board already had his thread bumped this morning without anything good to say

Agree and I thought the trade was great at the time and still think it was the right move but we have to see how Harden is. I think he will have a great year but if he does fall off, it will be a disaster.

The major media is still sleeping on us big time, we never get mentioned among the good teams in the NBA or west. It's always Memphis, Dallas, Clippers, Golden State, Denver, and then someone goes "The Pelcians are gonna be up there though!" The Pelicans have been getting a lot of love but we are chopped liver. It's like they expect us to be worse than last year. Even if we were the same we would still be battling for the 8-6 spot. It's weird how no one seems to expect us to be better.

It's funny indeed. The media was enthralled by how NOP ended the year. Zion is their media darling (especially ESPN), so obviously if you add a superstar to a surging team, they could win 75 games obviously...

When Butler took the Wolves up the Western Conference standings we got more attention. The same should happen this year. ESPN loves 3 things more than just about anything else:

1. A young superstar that they can tell a story about. Zion and Ja are just two easy examples.

2. A drama surrounding a team and it’s fit. Lakers with Westbrook, Wolves with big ball/twin towers, ect…

3. An underdog who way over-preforms, like Memphis and Chicago last year.

We just happen to have all 3. Win 9 of the first 10 and we will be the talk of the national media.

Year after year after year Harris puts up excellent across the board numbers. There's just about nothing in basketball that he doesn't do well.

True it wont take long at all to gettalk going. Just a handful of good wins and we will have people talking like crazy. Just funny cause no one is doing it now but a lot will act like they have been on the train since day 1.

Jazz leading Denver 72 to 50 nearing the end of the first half. Did Hell freeze over and I missed the memo?

Utah not only beats Denver, but beats them bad. Wolves lead the Division.

We better study the film. After our night tonight we cannot take Utah for granted.
