I have KG as a Top 10 all-time player and Top 10 Peak ever. So no, I don't think ANT will ever come close to KG.

I think ANT has a chance to be better than guys like Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Clyde Drexler [Top 10-ish player in a season, so ANT could maybe squeak out some Top 5 finishes].

I would tend to agree but Ant has the capability to get to (and surpass) KG’s level and I don’t think we’ve had a real legit threat to that since Ticket.

So Happy we nailed the 2020 draft, it saved this franchise by getting Ant & Jaden.

How are we defining iconic?

Locally? I think greater team success can help Ant get there.
Nationally? This will be harder, but he's got the ability to do it.
Historically? Kevin is way up there due to his defense and longevity. This is probably the hardest.

Only complaint is Bolmaro. Just around that spot it would have been nice to get either Quickley or even Pritchard, let alone someone like Bane (although who knows how he develops with Ant in the way).

Ant must be leading the league in shot attempts where he has one foot just skimming the 3 point line

I think Mike Conley is going to be great for Ant. He’s a beloved vet & mentor who has a ton of craft to share with Ant, especially running the PnR. There’s still so much low hanging fruit for Ant to pick in his development, which is pretty incredible given his current production.

This was so nasty. Love how much he has added to his game already. Continue to tighten his handle, and learn to draw fouls at a higher rate and keep working.

Next step for Ant is cutting down the turnovers...some of the turnovers Ant commits are easily avoidable

One of the reasons I like acquiring Mike Conley is that there is ton he can teach ant about being a primary ballhandler, specifically how to run a pick and roll. Ant still struggles there, and if he can master running the pick and roll there is no limit to his ceiling.

That and on ball defense. Not super impressed with Conley's offense so far, but hopefully he can help mentor Ant into Point Ant and improve some of those shaky crunch time plays.

They mentioned that Edwards postups more now and plays more defense. Then Edwards said that he needs to be efficient.

I like that!

P.S. He also mentioned Anderson when they spoke about leadership. I love that as well!

Well, I see Conley weaknesses in defense: mainly length and athleticism on closeouts because when he has ho X-Out his lack of length is exposed. But he is day and night in terms of effort, transition defense and recovery after closeout if I compare him to Russell.

I totally agree. Some people frame the Conley-DLo trade as being all about Gobert, and sure, Conley is one of the only guys that could come here and instantly know how to play with Gobert, a skillset that takes time. But his ability to teach Ant that skillset will be the team’s top priority, for the always team-oriented Conley.

Moreover, I have always been impressed by Conley as a true professional, long before he put on a Timberwolves jersey. Ant has a great mindset, but he is young and seems impressionable, and I definitely want Conley in his ear rather than DLo. I will be curious if we see a decrease in Ant whining about every call, or picking up technicals, after a few stern looks from Conley.

I believe Conley is a guy that can help steer Ant to be the generational, professional player that he has the potential to become.
