I asked for more and I’m getting more, in the form of defense. That’s almost best case scenario. Thumbs up.

But if I had to trade KAT, I kinda like Suggs and picks and maybe get flyer Isaac thrown in.

Suggs has that dog in him! ;)

Isaac is still tantalizing.

I like your post until the Suggs part. I get he is from Minneapolis and hit an all-time great shot vs UCLA. However, if I look at his stats and a few games of eye test, he is not much better than Milton or Brown. At best is unproven commodity right now. So, not going to give up Towns for him. If we do, it's basically Towns had a 2022 Westbrook year and we are dumping salary.

No way. Suggs is a defensive monster. 7 steals last night. He’s doing this already. Milton and Brown will never do that.

Suggs is a defensive monster. Very erratic shooter. And for us, most importantly, he is NOT a point guard. He’d play NAW’s role here, essentially requiring Anderson to be on the floor with him to actually play point. Suggs is Marcus Smart 2.0.

What separates Suggs from NAW?

I still question whether Suggs will ever be a starter level player on a good team. His offense needs much work. But to be fair, we haven’t seen him enough in the PG position, with good talent around him, so I don’t know what he will become. I’m risk averse, so trading Towns for some mystery “PG of the Future” who might not ever become a starter, is a fear of mine, and a price that MIN can’t afford. It’s not like we have stars (or often starters) beating our doors down in free agency.

We might when Ant and Jaden are in their primes, maybe Haliburton gets tired of Indiana.

For starters, 3 years.

Consider where Suggs will be in 3 years.

Prime Smart on this team would be amazing.

As for mystery young, future stars. That’s likely what will bring value in a future KAT trade. I don’t think the vet with the inflated salary coming back will be the prize. ;)

I haven’t seen enough of Suggs. But it concerns me that he couldn’t establish himself among Orlando’s triumvirate of PG mediocrity, and they spent their lottery pick on a fourth PG

I don't think he's a PG. He's potentially a SG with some secondary playmaking ability. A Combo Guard I guess. He turns it over way too much.

I love his defense and rebounding, but I don't love him playing next to Ant.

Thanks for finding these. I just can’t imagine MIN trading Mike Conley, who seems to be the leader of this more professional, winning, Wolves team. And he doesn’t even try to salary match trades for Tyus or Delon Wright.

Rozier is a good defender and 20pt scorer, but how are we suppose to afford his 24.9 million and 26.6 million after this season.

On another note, it seems like Ty Hali has a ton of respect for Ant. While highly unlikely, I could def see them trying to pair up down the road if everything aligned for them.

One small move I can see, if we don't see Wendell Moore progressing to be a quality rotation player next year, is trading Moore for an expiring minimum contract player at the deadline, maybe even one who can play a little bit, to get off Moore's guaranteed money for next year and have an extra roster spot to offer to a veteran who might be able to actually contribute.
We will have our own first rounder and a pick in the top 15 of the 2nd next year too, can only carry so many developmental guys on a roster that wants to compete for titles.

Also, I'm starting to lean harder into the idea of Leonard Miller taking some of Slo-Mo's role over next year.
$ will be tight anyway, but Kyle has regressed a bit to the mean this year from his outstanding year last year.

If Miller isn't ready now he will be by next year.

What about Milton, Moore, 2nd round pick for Jevon Carter?

Gobert/Reid + Garza
Towns/Anderson + Miller
MCD/Brown + Minott
Edwards/NAW
Conley/Carter/JMac + Nix

I know the Bucks liked him, but I'm not too familiar with him. Is he someone that can run the point guard spot and distribute the basketball if Conley misses 10 or so games? As a starter in 39 games last season he averaged 9.4pts 3.4 assists. Is he really worth Milton and a 2nd round pick (Moore I don't really care about if we move him)? He's only playing 14 minutes per game on a terrible Bulls team.

No, he is not capable of running offense. He is a good PoA defender and can hit open threes. Sometimes I wonder if Finch wants Milton to play the same way: just take all open threes and defend PoA.

Obviously the best case scenario would be getting Monte Morris from waivers after trade deadline and fully healthy McLaughlin by the end of December 2023. Also at the moment we should not trade Anderson, because without McLaughlin we need Kyle as connector.
