7. Love (4), Gordon (1), Jordan (5), Bayless (4)
AT this pick, is there a more obvious choice than Jordan? Bayless and Gordon would be under-sized combo guards who'd jam up our backcourt even more. Love wouldn't displace Jefferson. Jordan would actually have a chance of being an upgrade at a position and would move Jefferson back to his natural spot.
Remember, this is a WOLVES BOARD, not a regular mock draft.
Assuming the guys are already gone in the top 6, who would you pick with number 7?
Jordan.

What's obvious about Jordan? For all we know he is a 7ft Ndubi Ebi. I hope Jordan stays in school because I'm not willing to gamble with such an important pick. JMHO, but McGee > Jordan.

I just see Eric Gordon being another Ben Gordon, which would be fine, if we had the luxury of drafting for a great bench player. Unfortunately, our starting line-up needs some work.
Gordon and Bayless just seem to jam things up with Foye and McCants.
I don't think anyone can really argue that our greatest need is at Center. Once we're set there all the other positions balance out, as Jefferson, Gomes, and Brewer can all slide down one spot to their natural positions.
Jordan isn't the perfect candidate, but if he can just concentrate on playing solid defense, rebounding the ball, and throwing down offensive rebounds and alley-oops, I'd be satisfied. Obviously no where near his level yet, but he would have a similar game to Dwight Howard. I'd take that, and I believe he has that type of set.
Maybe McGee or Donte Green become options if we get completely screwed by the lottery.
Now, if we do get stuck with Gordon or Bayless, I'd sure hope that a trade would be right around the corner, either for the guy we drafted, or Foye. I don't see Foye working well with Gordon or Bayless.
Maybe Foye plus that million dollars that Taylor saved to get Brandon Roy back?

Maybe long story short...
If we don't get someone off this list, I'm gonna be cranky...
Rose, Beasley, Lopez, Mayo
That would be my personal order of preference, as well.
If Rose...
C - Jefferson
PF - Gomes
SF - Brewer
SG - Foye
PG - Rose
If Beasley...
C - Jefferson
PF - Beasley
SF - Gomes
SG - Brewer
PG - Foye
If Lopez...
C - Lopez
PF - Jefferson
SF - Gomes
SG - Brewer
PG - Foye
If Mayo...
C - Jefferson
PF - Gomes
SF Brewer
SG - Mayo
PG - Foye
And although I prefer Rose, I think the Beasley/Lopez options for our roster are much more balanced.

Wolves have needs everywhere. Just because they have no bodies at center and a lot of bodies at guard does not mean they have the talent they need at either position. They've got to take the best player available this year. In a few years when they're ready to compete, that's the time to start flushing out the depth chart.
And I don't want to see Gomes starting at PF next year. Another big has to be found somewhere - if not the draft, trade or FA.

Gomes playing PF next year is exactly why I don't want Gordon or Bayless.
I guess I'm thinking about it like you would in say Fantasy Football.
Yeah, the top kicker's going to get you the most points, but is he that much better than the 5th best kicker? No, that's why you take the best running back because he's that much better than the 5th best running back.
Jordan is that much better than our options at center. Of course, now that I say that, I'm beginning to think more short term, next year only.
EDIT: Which isn't the right mentality.
