I wonder how much KUs system is important for guards. I mean last year Booker didnt show much in terms of playmaking and all of the sudden turned into PHNX best prospect. Murray is not PG, not yet. He played as off ball, catch and shoot scorer, and he did very well. But what if this role didnt allow him to showcase his PG skills? Just like KAT didnt shoot from mid range at KU, but somehow he is one of the best midrange shooter in NBA.

If Murray is only catch and shoot scorer our choice would be between Hield/Dunn/Murray
If Murray is only catch and shoot scorer + PG skils he should be our choice.

C'mon Thibs, get a mid pick and draft him.

His jumper looks solid. Under Thibs coaching he might turn into younger Taj Gibson/Dray Green

Sorry but cross racial comparisons are against the realgm rules, you'll have to think of some white guys he might be.

Seriously though he looks pretty darn impressive.

If he had a cooler sounding name he'd be a top 5 pick.

Sorry, here we are not used to pay attention to racial question/comparisons at all.

Juancho is impressive to me. A bit undersized for PF, but can make things happen due to his aggressivenes and physicality. Quick release

I was just kidding my man. You don't find many white guys compared to black guys and black guys compared to white guys here on realgm.

Hield/Murray or bust for me. I'll be devastated if those guys go 3-4.

I think at least one of them will be there. If those are your guys, I'd be more concerned they are going to pass on them for Dunn.

Murray's release is impressive he can shoot without using body or legs too much.

Your despair would be my prayers come true as we would be in a position to take Bender.

Like Dragan Bender?

He could be the steal of this Draft easily. The best rank is 29# for him.

EDIT: DX ranked him #20 right now.

Name one thing Buddy Hield did well at the same age.

Bender is a project. He has elite size, great work ethic, good perimeter defender, improving shooter.

If you're looking for something elite, I'd say defending perimeter players on switches as a big. I don't know if there are any 7-footers in the league that are as quick as he is outside of Durant. If you consider "complementary player that fills all the gaps" a skill you could use that one too.

The only problem is that it is low and I think that will limit his ability to create his own offense in the NBA.

I hate just casually throwing his name around, but I think Bender has a lot of similarities to Kevin Garnett.

His biggest key to work on early in his career is to gain strength. That will help him both offensively and defensively in the post and on the glass.

So Hield's one productive year in college is a fluke but Murray's one productive year in college is a sign he's a natural? Makes sense...

I like Murray over Hield too, but let's not act like Murray has had a longer stretch of success at this level. They both had 1 year.

It isn't just the one year at Kentucky that people have to form an impression of Murray. He acquitted himself well in the Hoop Summit as a sophomore, dominated as a junior, impressed at the Pan-Am games, then reclassified and killed it in an off ball role at Kentucky. He's 3 years younger than Hield, but he's been on the radar longer (for sake of comparison, his first DX entry came a little over 5 months before Hield got his). There's a solid case to be made that Murray's a natural, and while his success at a younger age doesn't guarantee he'll be better than Hield, it's a point in the hoser's favor.

Great post.

Jamal has skills that perfectly compliment the players we have. He can be the play maker along side Lavine and the shot maker beside Rubio.

Jamal is the perfect fit.

PRAYING he's still their at 5.

Bless us NBA gods
