“I’m not saying it wouldn’t be nice to be in the top three. I’d love to be in the top three,” Saunders said. “It’s not where I’m looking to say where our franchise is happy we didn’t’ get in the top there. But with the players that we have, adding through free agency or trades and guys getting healthier, that’s how we’re going to make our jump next year.”

Wiretap says mavs are looking to trade their pick for cap space.

I would be down to trade expiring ridnour (mavs need depth at point) + our 2nd rounders for #13 to get Steven Adams or Dieng.

That would lessen the cap space for DAL, not increase it

I don't want two lottery players on this team.
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Tony Parker 28. Not our luck but it happens.

I know it happens, but I was referring to this specific draft.

With how solid this draft is in the middle I wouldn't completely count it out. It's more likely with this kind of draft than a draft top heavy and light to the end.

You sure? I thought 2nd rounders were not guaranteed.

You have them taking on Ridnour but not giving any salary back.

this calls for a blockbuster trade:

Derrick Williams/Barea/Ridnour/Stiemsma/our 2nd rounders from this year
for
Marion/Carter/Collison/Boobwah/#13

congrats, saved some bank!

too much swapping spit for me...

We got two #1 picks, two veteran PG's, and DW to acquire a starting SG and quality backup center. DW is the key piece here ... If Flip actually does like a SG in the draft, I expect him to be aggressive in making sure he uses whatever assets it takes. We'll then package whatever is left to add a veteran wing and center. I also expect us to draft Rodney or Trevor in round 2.

rube/JJB
Vet SG/Draft pick SG
Vet SF/Bud/gopher
Love/DC/gopher
Pek/Vet center/Johnson
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

This year's class isn't perceived to contain the depth of those past, where names like Joakim Noah, Amare Stoudemire, Dirk Nowitizki and Tracy McGrady were available eight picks in. Immediate help via the draft will likely come to the Twin Cities in niche form.

But that's just fine, Saunders said, because the Timberwolves' needs are many.

"I think it's the opposite of thin," Saunders said of the talent pool he and his staff are about to delve into. "I think it's balanced. No, you don't have an Alonzo Mourning, a Patrick Ewing, a Shaquille O'Neal or a Derek Rose. You don't have that one player that singlehandedly might change the face of your franchise. But even below us, I think you'll see a player taken at 12 that some might take at six. Some players are gonna slide."

The more I read about KCP, the more I like him.

A lot of his cons: Ball handling, shot selection, not driving to rim (chucking) are easily fixable. He would be a great shooter for us.

Too bad we couldn't fix Wes Johnson

Wes played 5 years at college with some talent around in Syracuse and played power forward position there. He has 0 skills to play SG in NBA. That was the major fail.
Maybe KCP never will be hardenesque driving to the hoop, but we dont need that neihter with Shved, Rubio and Barea dominating the ball. YOU HAVE to analyze teammates skills in order to choose players, that is sinergy, the only thing you can get better in a team without increase the salary cap in the long run.
The chasing blocks, the 3s from nba range, high volume at good clip jumpers, the size, the speed through screens, and even some pass game (1:45).

All is there.
The other options I like in SG position are McLemore and Oladipo. They will not be there at nine. Maybe McCollum and Shabazz will be there. I cant see any difference between McCollum and Ridnour on defense side to be honest and marginal on offense. Shabazz is not quick enough to defend NBA SG and he is probably a headache.

In a franchise like Wolves you have to be care of players loyalty, and in that regard i will take KCP over Shabazz any day. Anyway I would trade 26, 2nd round picks and Ridnour for a veteran SG even if he dont have starting projection.
I would trade Williams and/or Barea to move up if we can take Zeller. I will keep Williams over any other big in this draft.

Wes was a victim of Joker. We cant erase that smile

Btw,If we keep the pick and choose Kentavious Caldwell Pope, and Saunders is hinting in trading/signing for a vetSG,
then what happens to Shved? Can we say he's in the trading block with Dwill?
What would AK feel about that?
Or will Adelman use him as the backup PG, and trade either Barea or Ridnour?
Trust the PRosas!

NBA.com's first mock has us taking Bazz.

That mock seems a little goofy but I think just about anything is possible at this point. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Flip take Len over Shabazz if he had that choice.

If he doesn't like Shabazz, fine, but if he takes Len w/ Shabazz, KCP and McCollum all on the board, then he needs to be fired before he takes his next breath.
