5-11. Smart, Randle, Vonleh, Gordon, Saric, Nurkic, Ennis
12-30.

I'd put Wiggens and Parker in a tier ahead of Exum, and Smart, Randle, Vonleh, and Gordon in a tier ahead of Saric, Nurkic, and Ennis. And really, I don't think I'd even separate Saric, Nurkic, and Ennis from the 12-30 hodgepodge.

Lots of movement in the new DX mock.

Smart going 4, Exum going 6.
McDermott going 8, Stauskas 9.
Hood taken by Wolves at 13, over Harris (14), Lavine (17), and Young (19).

I had pegged Hood as a Flip Saunders pick for awhile. He's probably more ready to contribute from day 1 than Lavine and Young. He has the length that Harris doesn't have and is one of the best shooters in the draft.

I think Ennis is the BPA at that spot, but understandable Flip would pass over a PG for a wing.

If we ended up with three picks between 13-19 (CHI trade), I'd consider a draft 'n stash of this guy:

He's pretty bad on defense, though. Flip's been saying he wants two-way players so I can't see him passing on Harris for Hood, particularly with the Izzo connection.

He's easily my number one target at #17 if we got it from Boston. Like I've said I've watched several Sevilla games this year cause Tomas Satoransky is my favourite Euro player. Dude is gonna be really good I think.

wow! I couldn't agree more with that mock as far as how I also feel about the players. I've thought for a while now Stauskas at #13 would be a huge steal, 9 sounds about right to me. McDermott is another player I'm personally high on, though I don't think he's a good fit for us per se, #8 sounds about right for him too. It was only a matter of time before Smart moved ahead of Exum imo.

Lavine I think is just too raw, like everyone is raw in an NBA draft but this dude could have just picked up the ball a week ago and with his athletic ability would look about the same. He's just too risky in the Lottery imo, YMMV. Young just looks atrocious too me so I am not surprised at all to see him fall to #19.

Harris at #14 sounds about right to me again, if he was just a tiny bit bigger / longer he'd be higher, but he isn't. Hood I actually don't know that much about so won't say much about that one.

When you take into account Flip knocking Burke and McCollum because of their size last year, and the relative disappointment of Randy Foye, I think you can see why he might pass on Harris.

I hope McDermott AND Stauskas go before us. Can't have such weak defenders playing big minutes on a good team.

I like Stuaskas, but I'm so sick and tired of our shooting guards getting destroyed defensively.

Harris was able to go right at him and Stauskas couldn't do much of anything to prevent him from scoring. And Harris is a small guy with not much of an advanced dribble drive game.

I like Ennis with where we pick. Gives us a great Pick and roll player off the bench.

I would be happy with Harris at #13. He's a good shooter that can play off the ball, plus he can be a solid secondary ball handler who can pass the ball. His size is subpar but it allows him to guard PGs well. I think Rubio maybe better off guarding SGs anyway. He's longer than Harris but he's poor fighting though screens on the pick'n'roll while Harris seems to do a good job in this regard. Guarding SGs will let Rubio to double team more which he seems to do well. So I think they make a good backcourt together.

I'm torn on this. Guys who can hit high volume threes at high percentages are just more efficient scorers, and they open the floor for everyone else. I'd love to build a team that is more capable of hitting threes, of course you can't just ignore defense either.

Yeah, but guys that have the athletic ability to play defense can teach themselves how to be high volume three point shooters. You can't teach shooters to become more athletic. I worry that McDermott and Stauskas are similar to Jimmer. Great shooters, not much else.

McDermott and Stauskas have nothing to do with Jimmer or each other actually, since all of them play different positions and have completely different games.

How many non-shooters athletic defensive players out of college went on to become high volume three point shooters? Could you name a couple of examples?
