From us sure. pretty sure they still have Tucker, Anderson, Jones.

From Jazz point of view, Kessler and picks was what they wanted. The other players were salary fillers and incentive to move Conley. As it's proven out, non of them could fetch a 1st rounder. So we really should look at the Gobert trade from that perspective and not count Beasley and Bolmaro as #1s to Jazz.

Yeah that's been my biggest takeaway.

Much of the outcry was that we included the picks AND all of those players. Well, Utah didn't really see the value of those players either, and some of them would have had lower values if we kept them on this roster as well (ie Vanderbilt).

Whatever the players do in Los Angeles will have zero bearing on the Gobert trade either. That's Utah's problem now.

Small sample size (4 games), but since the trade and his increased playing time, he’s averaging like 20ppg at over 50% from three on serious volume. If he could ever legitimately learn to shoot, he’s a good NBA starter with his defense.

He's lining himself up for MLE money this offseason, and honestly there's part of me that hopes we offer him it...

He deserves better. If he stays at a starter level he probably should stay with Phoenix and play with Paul, Booker, Durant, and Ayton.

He won't get starter minutes here.

No. that's not how it works.

The Jazz received a first for the players we gave them, so they had value to them. The Jazz aren't trying to win, and we'd be lucky to have them back on the team because they clearly had value here. Van or Naz might has the best contract in the league compared to his production. the only player to lose value was Dlo during the playoffs.

Well, I love Okogie, but in terms of architype I prefer someone like Achiuwa - big, athletic forward, who can slash, hit open 3s and rebound.

https://youtu.be/Q83c-BHj6ew

Trade Reid for couple of SRPs, let Nowell walk if he wants more than 5-6mil.

Gobert/Knight/Garza
Towns/Anderson/Achiuwa
MCD/TP/Minott
Edwards/Nowell/Moore
Conley/JMac/NAW

I have been thinking about all this loaf management thing. I wonder if we can rely on two bigs being available all 82 games, or we should build roster that is kind of injury proof with two, even three hockey 5 men units? Let me explain.

The more I am watching Anderson I the more I see his value as connector tissue on the floor: he can defend both rim and perimeter, he can rebound, he can slash, he can shoot. Hence he is highly compatible with Gobett, Towns and Garza. Without him I feel like we are kind of small, even if we play Gobert, because next biggest player will be TP or MCD. Getting someone like Achiuwa instead of Okogie will give us an extra option at PF. Let's say Towns rests on b2b. You play Gobert-Anderson-MCD-Edwards-Conley, and from bench Garza-Achuiwa-TP-Nowell-JMac.

The only problem here is too heavy scoring load on Edwards, but Okogie signing won't resolve this issue as well.

Feel like in terms of importance we need

1) A younger PG prospect that can take backup minutes
2) Slashing Wing/Guard
3) An Athletic Hustle Big

What? lmao man, Kat..this guy is really lame. An athletic, very rich lame dude. Forbes just looked like a guy who was ready to blow while sitting on the bench. And when he didnt he always had that creepy smile of his. He just like everyone else knew that what he had built up as a reputation of being a shooter was going down the drain game by game.
Why would Kat let that happen? why let your famous gf set a coworker up with a porn star that she knows? The guy was ready to snap and all it would have taken was a fan or anyone laughing at his situation. Karlito and his pimp should have stayed far away from him.

But I'm glad he's off the team because he clearly needs to get help with his anger.

We should have let Austin go to bring in Pat.

I don't think KATs girlfriend was sitting there playing match maker. Forbes was with the Wolves for less than a year, my guess is that they all were at a party that had a few NBA players. Intro's aren't much in that regard. It probably wasn't as serious as you are making it out to be.

Budinger and Field were actually ranked #3 in FIVB among American teams (#56 in the world). Evans and Benesh was #7 (#92).

Each country can bring two teams to the Olympics, so there is a decent chance Budinger could be playing for Team USA in 2024.

I thought people might be interested in his background. From Wikipedia

High School
Budinger was a standout basketball and volleyball player at La Costa Canyon High School while living in Encinitas, California; his teammates on the basketball team included future NFL quarterback Kevin O'Connell. In basketball, he led La Costa Canyon to the CIF San Diego Section title in 2006. In volleyball, he led his school to three state championships and was named by Volleyball Magazine as the National Player of the Year as a senior.

Budinger was a McDonald's All-American and was the runner-up in the 2006 McDonald's All-American Slam Dunk Contest.

Considered a five-star recruit by Rivals.com, Budinger was listed as the No. 2 small forward and the No. 4 player in the nation in 2006

College career
Budinger chose to concentrate on basketball, signing with Arizona—a school that did not (and still does not) sponsor varsity men's volleyball—although he received offers from many other schools, most notably offers by USC and UCLA to play both basketball and volleyball.

He started for them Wednesday. Although he had only 5 points, he did have 10 assists, 10 boards, and 4 steals. Dude is far from washed and we should have brought him in. Hell, he WANTED to come back - how many former Wolves have said that? (Yes, I know he's not shooting well this year.) Still, FO is either dumb as hell or someone on the team has a grudge.

It’s nice that he found a team where he could start, because he was pushing to be a starter here last year. I don’t think we could offer him a starting role. I like the guy, but we are moving past that phase. Ant, Conley and probably JMac are all in front of him, and the Wolves might want to see what they have with NAW going forward, and try to find him minutes too. Would PatBev be a positive influence or negative one if he was buried on the bench for garbage minutes?

Lastly, remember, he was only on a $13 mil contract, and he still got waived. I’m happy for him that he had a good opening game in CHI, but don’t get your hopes up. A team would rather pay $13 mil for nothing rather than $13 mil for PatBev - that means something.

RoCo has 12 mil guaranteed next season. Maybe he gets traded and waived? I would love to to bring him and Beverley.

After watching Conley, I cant stop thinking how good would have been Tyus Jones in Conley role next to Gobert, Towns and Edwards.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
