The biggest problem with the Wolves making a trade to upgrade PF is that the guys we would be looking to move have restrictions on when/how they can be traded. Davis' salary can't be aggregated with another player until January 22 and Hernangomez can't be traded at all until March 2.

Here are how I see the options going forward (assuming pick(s) added to each deal):
- In the short term, Davis could be used to match the salaries of Bjelica or PJ Tucker.
- After January 22, Davis+Layman could be used for Larry Nance.
- After March 2, Hernangomez+Davis could be used for Nance or Hernangomez+Davis+Layman for Aaron Gordon

Why exactly would other teams want to take your assumed lessor PFs for their assumed better PF? Oh the picks? Might want to entertain the idea of Culver, Okogie or Edwards or someone with value is getting traded. But I also don't think it would be for someone like Bjelica. Not sure about the others stated either.

Anything short of an absolute stud is going to probably do very little from this PF role here and not be worth a trade. They would need to be very aggressive on both ends. Does Gordon still fit that? Not certain. Still thinking the Ben Simmons route either directly or in 3 team deal with Houston if Culver/Edwards can get their value up.

I know some people might be against him but I still see Rosas making a play for PJ Tucker. He’d come cheaper than a Nance or Gordon and would just be a bandaid. But he’d add toughness, can shoot it some, be switchable on D, and knows how to win, which is underrated. Rosas is also familiar with him from his rocket days.

I could see something like Juancho, McDaniels, and Nowell for Tucker. Tucker would take Layman’s spots in the starting lineup and the 25 minutes that would otherwise go to Juancho/Layman. He could also play some backup center when Naz doesn’t have it.

The other name I could see being cheaper than expected is Markannen. I don’t think the Bulls want to pay him. I’m not sure he’s what Rosas wants at PF though. I think they want someone defensive, athletic, that can shoot somewhat. Markannen can shoot and would be great on offense but doesn’t fit what we need defensively, like a Tucker, Gordon, or Nance.

No way I am giving away Jaden for Tucker. Jaden has too much potential.If the wolves are getting a stop gap like Tucker, they need to keep Jaden so he is ready to step in as the starter when Tucker is finished.

Why would the Kings do this? They are trying to win and Holmes is currently starting. As fans, I think we give Nowell trade value, I highly doubt if he has any real trade value in the NBA.

Fair enough. I thought that SAC dont value him enough, so they brought Hassan to replace Holmes.

trade DLO and whatever else is needed for good starting 4. Tell KAT- I know he is your friend but the guy is a chucker and we need to balance the roster out. The new lineup is better with many different names at the 4 and Rubio running the show full time.

He actually played very well the first two games before only playing 19 minutes in game 3. He’s essentially Okogie, except four inches taller with a significantly better handle. Isn’t that what we’re looking for in a PF? No need to discuss it though. Orlando is undefeated, will probably be in playoff contention, and therefore won’t move him. Plus, we have no salary to trade for Gordon until Juancho, Beasley, etc are eligible to be moved.

I was amused by a couple Orlando fans over on the Trade Board, hoping that once James Harden gets traded, a team that missed out will overpay for Aaron Gordon.

Honestly, a bag of hot garbage would be an upgrade over Layman or Juancho at this point. Layman is better used as a 3 where he can use his size advantage over most SF's. Both of them though are just not big and strong enough to be starting PF's on any NBA team, and Okogie at PF is foolish IMO. We need physical presence at the PF position, somebody, anybody who plays hard, rebounds, and at least defend at an average level against PF's. Why not throw Tyler Cook out there for a few games and see how that goes? He's gotta be better than hot garbage. He's big, strong, rebounds, attacks the rim, and at least has a chance to be a solid defender. Plus, he's a waaaaay better shooter than Ed Davis :lol:

But trades for PF's - I can think of 2 younger guys who we could probably nab on the cheap that might fit the description:
Jonathan Motley / Chieck Diallo

Both are buried on the bench in Phoenix, and both are of similar age to KAT. And of course they offer real size and athleticism, both could play the 4 or the 5. Holy crap, PHX waived Motley just last week. Bring him in and kick the tires. D-league numbers from last year:

For the Agua Caliente Clippers last year, the 25-year-old Motley averaged 24.0 points on 51.7% shooting.

The 6-foot-8, 230-pound big man grabbed 8.1 rebounds, adding 3.2 assists and 1.0 blocks in 26 games last year.

It is hard to deal with the delusion of the Magic fan base, but they take after their deluded gm. Warrior fans are up there also.

IF and this is a big IF, in the next few months Culver and Edwards continue to improve and Mcdaniels shows to be a potential legit starter, would you trade KAT for Wiseman + Min 2021 1st pick, GSW 2021 and 2022 1st round pick + fillers?

Of course the next step would be to trade also DAR for the best offer.
