c'mon gopherit its a legitimate concern. I just wanted a quick opinion about it. The last few games he has average something like 7 a game (while also putting up near triple doubles).

Listen, I like the kid a lot, I am just asking if he has a fundamental flaw in his handle or something like that. Like allweneedislove said, and what I assume, is that he is the primary ball handler for the team and he surrounded by scrubs which leads to the turnovers. Problem is, he may be put in a simlar roll next to flynn... so i am just looking for some opinions.

It comes from trying to be a 6'7" PG for nearly 40 minutes and having the ball in your hands almost the entire time.

He's an excellent ball handler, but he's being asked to do too much. He's getting smothered all the time and Ohio State cannot count on anyone else. Without Turner, the Buckeyes don't come close to the Big Title and don't make the tourney. If they had a decent PG, this thread wouldn't exist.

Agree. He's being asked to do a lot and I don't think he'll have the turnover problems in the NBA.

Very nice game by Johnson. I think he'd slipped out of the conversation for top 5 status for awhile there, but I think he's back in the discussion.

+1, I haven't been able to see much of Turner, so I'm not going to claim to know the real reason as to why he is turnover prone, but when your 6'7" the ball has to travel further to hit the ground so the defender who is usually smaller and quicker than him has the advantage of already being lower to get the ball away from his hands. Now I don't know if he is turning the ball over on passes, but if the ball is being stolen from him while he is dribbling that would be my guess. In my opinion though there is definately nothing wrong with his handle(the only time I saw him he kind of telegraphed where he wanted to go though), it will be excellent at the Sg position in the NBA.

I imagine Turner's usage rate is something obscene like 50%. So you would expect him to have 50% of the teams turnovers too.

Kemba Walker looking real good tonight after throwing up a pair of klunkers.

Stanley Robinson looks decent, but kind of blending in. I'll never get how a guy that athletic doesn't get to the line more. By far the worst Forward or Center at getting to the line (.19 FTA/FGA against quality opponents).

Hard to when you don't really post up or put the ball on the floor.

I agree to an extent, however the only guy near Robinson's ballpark in terms of FTA/FGA (that I track at least - 54 players) is Bradley at .17, the next closest would be Jordan Crawford at .29. Most of the guys I complain as being relatively passive jump shooters or not good at initiating contact (like Wesley Johnson) are around the .4 range.

Just kind of shocking to see and figured I'd throw it in there while I was talking about him. It's one of the handful of reasons why I'm not a fan of his.

Well if you're drafting Robinson it's probably not for his ability to create offense. He projects as a solid defender and great glue guy. For a mid-first he's low risk, low ceiling.

SG Reggie Williams (23 years old)

11 games 24.1 MPG
PPG 12.8
RPG 3.40
APG 2.3
FG% .530
3P% .486

It's only an 11 game sample for a guy who plays for the Warriors, but that's not too shabby.

I would like to say he can't do that an entire season but then again none of our guards can either
His shooting % are good. :o

It's numbers like that which make you question the relative value of all their players when projected on another team. Buike, Morrow, Watson, Maggette, Curry, etc.

The draft is filling up with 2nd rounders with potential.

Landesberg, with his ball handling ability, has some upside.

This is the second time I've read about Whiteside's attitude. This doesn't sound good at all. He's got a huge upside and would fill a definite need but I don't want him on my team.

Yeah from what i've read about Whiteside his attitude is entering the Sean William's zone. At this point, I wouldn't consider him before the Utah pick.

For those interested, I just uploaded my spreadsheet for Quality Opponent Statistics and cleaned it up so it looks nice and also took off a few "quality opponents" as they were not quite up to snuff.

The blog entry can be viewed here: http://casperkid23.blogspot.com/2010/03 ... stics.html

I hear this Stephon guy is pretty good. I don't think he has any buyout issues like Vesely or Rubio, so he could start for any team right away.

My random contribution is: I'm starting to like Wesley Johnson and AFA more and more as I learn about them.
