Oh absolutely! Theres no question about that. Wallace would definitely be a Plan B. But he would also cost quite a bit less IMO.

I know he's had off court issues but he really is a team first player that doesn't quit on his team mates and does whatever a coach asks him to do. He's a good decision maker with the ball in his hands, knows when to pass and when to shot and plays good off the ball as well.

i would absolutely love delonte here..has issues but he's plays his ass off, is a terrific defender and can handle the ball as an off guard with any of ricky, jj or luke.

Wow. Delonte West wasn't even on my radar. He would be a fine player to have.

I think the Wolves are in a pretty good place. Pretty much any one each of these two sets would be fine.

SG: {West; Martin; Crawford}
SF: {Iguodala; Wallace}

And that's just for starters. There are probably other names to add. And any of them should be available and interested in coming here. The Wolves would actually look like a team of professional basketball players.

Hmmmm..

Rubio/Ridnour/Barea
West/Barea/Ellington
Wallace/_______
Love/_______
Pekovic/_______

We're well on our way to solving all of the world's problems. :)

David Kahn has a challenge for his team.

"We have some young players who need to demonstrate how serious they are about this endeavor," the Timberwolves' president of basketball operations said Friday, April 27, at a postseason news conference with coach Rick Adelman. "We need to find out right now. Some of these kids can help us, but there are question marks."

Kahn declined to identify which young players he was referring to, but he indicated that forward Kevin Love and point guard Ricky Rubio are not among them. He singled out Love and Rubio as the "cornerstones" of the franchise and said they would not be a part of trade talks in the offseason.

"After those two, we have to be aggressive to make this team all it can be," Kahn said. "No trade possibilities will be turned down. We don't want to send out a message today, but we have players who will have some value around the league. You can assume there will be a trade or two."

Kahn said he and Adelman already have an idea of which players will not return next season, although he declined to reveal names. Kahn emphasized that offseason decisions will be made in "total collaboration" with Adelman, who said he wants to have input in all personnel moves.

"I can't speak enough of how I feel about Rick and his opinions," Kahn said. "My job is to identify the options and lay out strategies, then talk about what's viable and real."

I would move up and get jeremy lamb and sign Gerald Wallace/Batum personally. I don't know what trade will bring in a veteran and kevin martin is a veteran that you don't want.

My dream off season would be something like(making the giant and surely unrealistic assumption Gordon could be dragged away for 12.5 million per - it is a dream though)
- Amnesty Darko
- Renounce Beas & AR
- Trade JJ & memphis pick to Raptors for #7 pick in 2nd round and future top 15-20 protected pick
- Trade DW, B-rad, Martell & $3mil to Philly for Iggy
- Draft Moe Harkless at #18 and Tomas Satoransky at #7 in 2nd round(Send back overseas for a year)

I think that leaves us at about 39 million or 17 million in salary cap space
Sign to offer sheet (i consider batum untouchable)
Eric gordon for 4/50 million (12.5 million per)...(over paying is only chance to get away)

If offer sheet successful leaves about 5 million left
Sign Carlos Delfino or Delonte West to 3 years 9-12 million(3-4 million per)
Sign Nemanja Bjelica to 3 year 5-6 million dollars
Part of MLE to Jason Thompson or Jordan Hill

Ricky / Luke / Lee
Gordon / Delfino-West / Lee/ Eliington
Iggy / Johnson / Bjelica/Harkless
Love / Thompson-Hill
Pek / Hill-Thompson/ Love

Fill rest of roster out with vet minimum
Maybe try and trade Wes and a future pick for some help at the 4-5

Bring over Sato to replace Luke in 2013/14 to effectively salary dump Luke and get an asset.
Make sure Wes is gone too to start 13/14.

I'd love Iggy to come, but I don't really see it happening. At least not without involving Derrick Williams. Concerning Gerald Wallace, what kind of contract do you think he'll get? If he could be had for something like 32M/4y, I'd definitely go for him. Always, of course, as long as Iggy isn't available/Phily wants too much for him.

Reply from a Sixer fan:

I think Iggy will be available, but I don't see what Derrick Williams has proven to be worth him?

Iggy is an Allstar, incredible defender, improving shooter. Only thing he's is not is a number 1 star and clutch player, but therefore I think he could be a very nice combo with K-Love.

I just don't see Philly giving him away for Derrick Williams and some scrubs, because Williams hasn't shown anything this season.

So who do you want for him? Kyrie Irving? Rubio?

How about Jrue for DW?

#1 priority:
We have the assets to get Iggy - just depends if 3rd team would be involved to make it all work out. Fortunately Love and Iggy have been teamates on USA team and I think that has to help. We need to make this happen.

Plan B's:
Wallace would be fine ... love to give him the money and let Beas go
Gordon would be fine ... the problem is salary expectations vs. injuries, but he is young/talented

Lee will be helpful next year
Draft a 3-pt shooter
Bring in Bjelica
Tolliver on the cheap

Beas/Darko are history
Johnson is a mystery ... a shooter who cant shoot???
Webster is ok as a reserve, but his salary is getting to the point where we need to end it.
Darko done
AR done
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

2 years, $31 million for Iggy is awful steep for a team with cap space.

After watching this game. Iggy is def not worth it.

Turner actually looks like the best player in a Sixers' uni today.

Struggled with his shot, but still did everything else he does. We don't need a 20 ppg scorer.

Maybe not 20ppg but 15 ppg is a must from him. I would hate to sell a farm for Iguodala. He maybe good for next 2 years but after that who knows. He may drop rapidly and i would be nervous to extend him to a new long contract.

I think that would be easily attainable for him. Remember that he plays along a score-first PG in Holiday, so Iguodala is asked to do more facilitating than scoring.

Our two best SF options, Iggy and Wallace, both have this issue. It's not really about extending them or offering long term contracts. It's 2-3 years and look for a replacement. Iggy is better as a facilitator and defender, so is clearly the better option for us, but they are both legitimate starters for a playoff team. Either will do for that length of time.
